If you’ve been to a Kura Sushi location, this one is no different. You can get decent to good quality “localized” sushi at a reasonable price. It isn’t as cheap as it would be in Japan but that is expected. I have noticed that this particular restaurant isn’t as clean as it used to be. There was noticeable food stains/particles on the table, seats and at the plate return area as well as trash on the floor. We also had to wait for around 25 minutes as the staff informed us they were short people so they couldn’t operate at full capacity, meaning there was tables and the counter area that were vacant. The staff also seemed tired and “overworked”. They weren’t as friendly as I remember them being. Thankfully the food is still as good as I remember at this location. You can order made to order dishes or pull off the conveyor belt. Both seemed to be prepared fresh with fresh ingredients. The limited time Kirby Rolls are worth trying. Not incredibly unique but a fun combination that isn’t normally found on the menu.
One thing that the staff wasn’t able to answer was about the Bikkura Pon game where you get a prize for returning plates. We had to figure it out on our own since it seems they weren’t briefed or trained on how the app works. You can place orders with through the screen at your table on through the app. The app has some menu items that count towards your plate count but if you order through the screen/monitor, you don’t get that item counted. The staff were unwilling to help or confirm this. Not a deal breaker as it’s just for the free prizes you can get but something to take note of. We missed out on 2 rewards because of this though.
Overall, this Kura location is still worth coming to as the food quality is still up to standards. Be weary though of some cleanliness issues and tired employees. Hopefully management is able to remedy these small issues before it becomes a major problem.
The atmosphere, prizes, and employees all create a wonderful place to plan a date night or to take your family & friends. We absolutely love the prizes and collaborations they do, I think we have around 80 or so prizes capsules at home.
When I first went here I didnt like sushi, but now I’m eating everything on their menu. The revolving belt helped a lot with picking what to eat next, as they keep it fresh and restocked even on busy days. They also have this cute robot that delivers your drinks, we always thank it and wave bye .
Ill gladly keep coming back for date nights with my wife, or an outing with the family.
Fair warning, especially for older folks…everything is digital, you have to scan to check in, order from the screen, on a large belt of sushi, there were only 2-3 available. The Inari was soggy and not fired and crispy, food that was made “fresh” tasted like leftovers. Shrimp is very little, even iced water was something you had to order on the screen. Nobody asked if it was our first time there, there were no signs mentioning you had to order on the screen. We stayed there waiting for s seat, and when we sat we waited several minutes until we realized we had to order water from the screen. Floors were sticky and gross. You need to spend $50+ to get a “prize” worth $2. We paid our bill of what was ordered and left to eat dinner elsewhere.
My photos are showing the sushi belt and what was available to eat. Nothing was made fresh or put out.
DISAPPOINTED WITH KURA REVOLVING SUSHI BAR
Sushi was decent and the salmon belly nigiri was my favorite. They give you fresh wasabi, so don’t skip out on that — it really heightens the sushi.
After you’re done, don’t call for the server, but get your plates tallied with this thing they have at your table where you can deposit your empty plates for your total damage. For every five plates, you get a story to watch that builds on another. If you have fifteen plates, you get something from the gacha machine above to your side. It’s pretty fun seeing the mystery ball roll out of the gacha machine and into your hands. Kura was having a Demon Slayer collaboration when we went in July, so we got two balls out of the machine, which had a lanyard and a pin. Pretty cool prizes for just eating plates of sushi!
Food was 3.5 stars and I’m bumping it up to 4 stars for the toy prize aspect of this meal.
