I first discovered Kura Revolving Sushi a few years ago in Washington, D.C. At the time, all the conveyor belt sushi spots in New York had closed down, so I remember waiting for nearly an hour just to eat there. Since then, Kura has opened locations in New Jersey and other states and then finally New York! I’ve been visiting fairly regularly.

What I like most about Kura is that it’s affordable, quick, and convenient — perfect for a casual meal. I’ve been to the Scarsdale location several times, and because it’s one of the newer branches, the quality of the rice and fish tends to be better than at other locations.
The staff is generally friendly but the cleanliness of the restaurant is consistently lacking, which is disappointing. The tables were always dirty. The service can also feel inefficient — most things are brought by robot, including water, so human staff interaction is minimal. You have to ask separately for things like wasabi, and on busy days, I’ve sometimes been halfway through my meal before even receiving water.

Overall, it’s a convenient and reasonably priced option for sushi, but the experience could be improved with better cleanliness and a bit more attentive service.

One nice new feature is that you can request a smaller portion of rice with your sushi, which I really like.

Friendly service and clean. If you order online or through their system, the food comes fast. Love the December/Jan Kirby theming too!

Two minor gripes: our bikkuras kept getting stuck (but servers definitely came through for us) AND since we came at 7:40pm… they were basically done putting food on the belt so we had to order everything by hand instead of getting that conveyor belt experience. So, maybe if that is important to you, come earlier!

My daughter and wife’s favorite place to eat now. Food is always great and every few months, they change the menu a little. Im allergic to fish but there are things I enjoy. Monchis are my favorite as dessert. Just make sure you make a reservation with their app.

The crispy chicken and shrimp rice bowl I forgot the name was really good $11.80. First time dining in this random restaurant you pick sushi plate $3.99 each from the revolving table. The cheesecake desert is also good not sweet. I didn’t like the service much cause the person is like spaced out. I asked for tissues and took forever. This is a good place to sit and dine quick food trip everything is almost self serve. Maybe robots are better than humans.

What a nice experience. The staff is friendly. The food was fresh and there were plenty of options to choose from. The soup broth was delicious. The house sake completed the meal. I am glad I came here for mother’s day. I will most certainly be coming back.

Cute and fun little spot! This place can get wildly crowded and the wait list can be very long. It is a fun time if you reserve a table online beforehand. Understandably the sushi will not be top quality but you are going for the fun factor and the novelty experience. The conveyor belt is charming and this makes for a fun night out with friends. I love the little prizes you can earn when you eat a certain amount of plates. They often update their menu with seasonal items which is a nice surprise. Sometimes they have different cooked food items or dessert items as well. I come here for a quick bite when I want sushi but not a full meal and it always hits the spot.

It was my first time try and it was so great! I enjoyed their fresh sushi and their system was easy and convenient. You can order specific menu on the screen and it delivers on your spot when it is ready. Also it seemed like sushi and rolls were all same price(3.95$) each plate, except for other special dishes and desserts. They also have rewards so you can use it when you have coupons. It was a very fun experience and I’d love to go back soon! Maybe takeout too!

First time here and thought it was just ok in terms of quality and value. Some of the items on the conveyor were not that appealing and most of the trays were empty. There seemed to be sushi in trays on top of a prep table behind a glass partition not refrigerated. Not sure if that is standard practice here. May try it again to see if the experience is different.

My boys and I had a great time at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. We had a great time picking up plates from the belt as it came by. Whether the plate was full or had just one piece, they were all the same price. You have a screen that you order other food from and those come sliding directly to you on the second belt with a cute ring that you have food being announced. As you finish your plate, you place it in a slanted spot that makes it “disappear .”
Our favorite part of finishing 15 plates was that a cute prize come down next to the order screen. And if you eat 25 plates, you get another cute charm! Everyone got to enjoy the variety.
Place was clean, staff was friendly. Will DEFINITELY come back soon.

No reservation required but Im sure if you have a large group, it would be cordial to let them know ahead of time.

I honestly love Kura, I’ve even been to the original Kura in Japan. However the Scarsdale location takes the cake on service and hospitality! Vic is our favorite server who always pays special attention to our order. I would highly recommend kura for great food and service
