Came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm with my toddler and husband. The place is spacious and not busy so we got seated right away. Immediately saw the kids room on the right and was impressed, since I haven’t been to any other restaurants with a designated kids play space. We wanted to come try the shabu shabu since my daughter loves soup and noodles, and surprised how the hot pot looked. Definitely not the same shabu I have had elsewhere, including Japan, but maybe it’s their version here (photo included). The soup base was good, and my daughter loved the soup and noodles. Not very into the dumplings and the fact that the hotpot came out already pre-cooked. I was expecting to cook it myself like most shabu spots. Nonetheless, the service was great and we left full. It was around $68 including tax and tips. I took my daughter to play in the kids room while waiting for food and discovered all the toys were super filthy and didn’t work. My daughter went around pressing things and they were dead 🙁 still, it kept her busy for a bit before the food arrived. We also gave their fried cheesecake a try but super underwhelming and the cheesecake was still icy. This spot made sense because we were charging our Tesla Nextdoor. Otherwise I would pass next time.

The food here is great! Ate there on the way down the coast and went there on the way back up. The first time I forgot to take photos but remembered the second time. Definitely a great place to eat. I had the sizzling rice bowl bibimbap with chicken and beef the first time and chicken and spicy pork the second time. The combination of flavors were great. The rest of my family had the beef yakisoba, beef fried rice, beef bulgogi, avocado and salmon sushi rolls, teriyaki salmon, steamed chicken dumplings, and macaron ice sandwiches (vanilla and mango). All that food was two days worth. My family enjoyed all of it.

This place is the BEST!!! Asian food in SLO County hands down. The menu selection is phenomenal and the staff is attentive to every detail not to mention all the food is 100% organic. You must try the cold pressed Pomegranate Juice!!! If you are looking for a great ambience and dining experience you won’t be disappointed. This is the LOCAL spot. Don’t miss out on the Popcorn Lobster Roll!!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kochi Sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and the staff greeted us warmly.

Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu boasted an incredible selection of mouthwatering dishes, and we decided to try a little bit of everything. The short ribs were tender and packed with flavor, the rib eye was cooked to perfection, and the bulgogi was incredibly savory. Each bite was a delight for our taste buds.

But the culinary adventure didn’t stop there. The sushi was fresh and expertly prepared, with a wide range of creative rolls to choose from. The dumpling soup was comforting and flavorful, warming us up on a chilly evening. And let’s not forget the scallops – they were cooked to absolute perfection, tender and succulent.

To accompany our meal, we indulged in some sparkling sake, which added a delightful effervescence to each sip. And for dessert, the Thai tea ice cream was a heavenly treat, perfectly balancing sweetness and creaminess.

One aspect that truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.

We were celebrating a birthday, and the restaurant went above and beyond to make it a memorable occasion. From a personalized birthday message to a special dessert presentation, they truly made us feel like valued guests.

In summary, Kochi Sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant is a culinary gem. The food is outstanding, the service is top-notch, and the overall experience is simply phenomenal. If I could give it 10 stars, I absolutely would. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a special celebration, I highly recommend paying a visit to this remarkable establishment.

Literally awful experience tonight!! Let me start by saying the lady who “sat us” yelled from across the restaurant “OKAY YOU GUYS OVER HERE”, so professional! Now, I have worked in a restaurant so I understand being behind. But it’s one thing being behind and having a great waitress/ waiter that checks in , etc. However, tonight they took our order, bring one round of drinks, and forgot a whole half of our order. 30min later we had to go to our waiter and let them know to just cancel the rest of the order. Within those 30 min, 4 other groups left for the same reason. The same older lady who yelled from across the restaurant came around and asked if we were doing okay, not even our waiter, and we replied no, we have a whole other half of our order missing, where she replied “well that order is coming from a different kitchen so it will take longer”. Which is fine, but not 30 min. fine! Though this is a “bad review” the owner is absolutely amazing lol!!

So many options but they had a wonderful marinated beef and pork options for the Korean bbq option. The pork belly wasn’t as great but it was decent. We had to keep reminding them of our order but they were attentive. We also went during the day – the restaurant looks more like it’s set up for dinner service.

Took my friend here for her birthday. To start off, the service was great! The host was nice, and the servers were very attentive to everything we needed.

The food was AMAZING! There were so many delicious items on the menu it was hard to make a choice. I had a hot sizzling stone bowl with beef. It had beautifully crisp veggies, the meat was well marinated and tender, and it came with a bunch of sides. I also ordered a couple of sushi rolls. I got the sushi pizza and the popcorn lobster. The sushi pizza was SO GOOD! It had this crispy rice thing on the bottom which complimented the toppings nicely. The popcorn lobster was also really good. The little popcorn lobster bits on top were perfectly crunchy and crispy.

At the end of our meal, the servers brought my friend a free ice cream with a candle for her birthday. It was decorated, and they sang to her! So glad we came here. It was such a great experience!

If one is craving Korean BBQ [DIY grilled food], Shabu Shabu [DIY Asian Hotpot], as well as Sushi, this is one of the only places on the Central Coast of CA that will fulfill these urges. Even when we lived in HI, it was nearly impossible to find all three options, done well, in the same restaurant. On top of this, as opposed to HI, they also have the options of our wonderful local wines. While the city of Atascadero is generally looked down upon by many locals, it does have some gems, such as this place. One can find some great food, bakeries, breweries, cider producers, distilleries, and even a decent Farmers Market in this area. There are even some hiking trails, a modest lake/zoo, and more within the city limits. Some of the issues with this town is that one main employer is a huge Forensic Psychiatric hospital and generally a higher level of crime. As long as one uses the common sense that most urban areas would teach one, you should be OK. Just do not leave stuff in your car, and be sure to lock it up out of sight.

Many asian restaurants are not known for amazing customer service, but this is balanced by hopefully good food. For locals, this is one of maybe 2-3 Korean food options on the CC, and maybe the only Shabu Shabu place. The other Korean BBQ is in Santa Maria, and is not as nice as this place.

Is this a splurge, well of course it is, but the bang for the buck is far better than alot of more snooty places where you will not get filled up. As one can see from the pics, one can get tons to eat…and alot of it is not only tasty, but healthy as well. The fermented products alone are good for the microbiome.
