I went here for breakfast when we had the first winter storm. The atmosphere of the store itself is quaint and cozy, but the hospitality is missing a bit. I was asked if I ordered online or if I was ordering in the store and it tool a while for anyone to come and actually take my order once I was ready. I was allowed to check the food to make sure that it was okay, but the portions and size just seen off, but it did make up for it in taste the stuffed French toast was amazing and my daughter loved the Red Velvet waffles. The eggs with cheese seemed Iike a tease a portion allocated for a small child but burst of flavor. The home fries were delicious and the and the silver dollar pancakes where just that the size that would go in a child’s hand but was tasty.

This location was abysmal. They had no heat, we waited 1.5 hours to receive our food, the grits had some foreign brownish lumpy stuff in it, cook sent me luke warm grits and the cheese and butter wasn’t melted, cornbread overly heated…was hard. Someone with me ordered chicken and waffles, and one of the wings was clearly not completely cooked. And to top it off, as I am eating my fish, I see a long blond/brown strand of hair stuck to my fish. The lady with the long hair is in and out of the kitchen, smoking outside in the front of the restaurant, and nobody had on a hair net. While there were price adjustments made, waiting 1.5 hours for food in a cold environment, music too loud, and the food was not worth the wait or the prices. The two servers were great, but the chef lacks time management and cooking skills.

My first time visiting the Mt. Airy location and we opened the restaurant as the first customers which was fine. Jade was our waitress and she was very attentive and respectful. We all ordered different dishes and we had no complaints. *large portions alert Food was served fresh from the kitchen and everything was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection. Fish & Grits Chicken & Waffles seasoned well and waffles *crispy

I usually have good experiences here, but my last visit was disappointing. The fried fish was clearly reheated—chewy, no crisp, and not fresh. The grits were stiff, bland, and hard, and the cornbread tasted old and reheated as well. Overall, the lack of consistency was disappointing.

Went here for the first time and really enjoyed myself. We were greeted and served by Cynee. She was excellent and a beautiful personality. I ordered fish, home Fries, French toast and a Cranberry juice. My friend ordered jerk chicken, Waffles and a sweet tea (came with a sidenof hot honey cornbread). The food was delicious and couldn’t stop raving about it. My French toast could have used a bit more Cinnamon but otherwise light and fluffy. The server made the experience light and fun. I would go back at the same timeframe as it was not crowded. It was Saturday around 2p.

I didn’t have the same experience as a lot of others have had as far as the customer service. We were greeted when we came in. Our food came out pretty fast and it was good. I had the chicken & waffles, my friends had fish & grits and we all had food to take home. My friends sent the cornbread back to be warmed up but that was it. Jade was VERY nice, she interacted with us and my nephew who is 2. She helped put his shoes back on. She was very personable and made our experience enjoyable. They do charge .50 for larger take home boxes though

I order breakfast from here all the time, usually off DoorDash. However, this morning was the worst experience. I spent $36.18 for the most horrendous and non edible food item. I tried to call to see if they would make this right and the staff continued to argue with me. This is NOT cream chip beef. I want a refund.

Food was amazing! I ordered the jerk wings (they were really good they tasted like they were Jerk wings from a Jamaica restaurant), Pork bacon and cheese eggs. I got there and they gave me sides to my orders. I learned you can’t remove food off meals, with that being said they gave me fries with my wings and home fries with my eggs and bacon. Nevertheless. Food is recommended to try!

The food was very good. It didn’t take long to come out. The service can use a little work. I was standing at the door waiting to be seated for about 30 minutes while looking at empty tables, and the waiters didn’t attempt to make any contact with me. There’s a sign that says “wait to be seated” but that’s not realistic.
