We had our all time favorite Indian dish, shrimp biryani. It was absolutely delicious, and our server prompt and friendly. Indian game show on the TV. Great chai. Was abuot $48 for the two of us, which in 12-25 is not too bad for a great meal with generous portions. Five stars!

We love Indian food and wanted to give this place a try while on a quick trip through the town. The restaurant is plain and simple which is all you need – the food speaks for itself. It was so tasty.
I appreciated the friendliness of the staff, and most importantly the cleanliness of the restaurant itself.
Would 100% recommend. Our favorites from the meal were the Veggie Pakora, Aloo Gobi, and the Spinach & Cheese Naan. If I lived nearby this would be our go to!
My only suggestion would to be to have some music going on at all times for the guests dining in to enjoy

This might be my new favorite restaurant in Hood River! I was pretty happy with the Indian food truck over by the waterfront but kirpa’s a notch above for sure.

The curries and sauces are all extremely flavorful, in the “this isn’t probably good for us” sense but it tastes amazing. Butter, tomatoes, herbs, and sugar will do that I guess.

The naan has the right amount of crisp to the edges and it isn’t completely soft and soggy.

I can’t wait to go back and try more.

Kirpa’s did not disappoint. Definitively a place to venture out of your comfort zone. If your go to is Butter Chicken, try the Lamb Curry. If your fav is Goat Tikki Masala, try the Chicken Korma…Rangid will not lead you astray. Incredible spices, creamy sauces and tender meats. A lot of to-go customer came and went while we enjoyed our quiet meal in our new favorite Pacific Northwest Indian restaurant. A couple notables: first impression was the wonderful smells as we entered the restaurant-so delightful and the second impression was the paper napkins of all things. They are high quality, which mirrored the people. Love, love, love this place. Oh and don’t forget the well known Indian secret-if your dish seems too hot at first, let your mouth rest as you update your live review and the spices will subside.

We ordered takeout and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The place felt unwelcoming when we walked in, and the person at the counter seemed completely uninterested—though maybe he was just having a bad day.

We ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and naan. The butter chicken was overly sweet, the naan was nothing like what you’d expect, and the chicken tikka masala tasted almost identical to the butter chicken, just with extra coloring.

Overall, the food wasn’t worth the price, and we wouldn’t order again.

Look at owners reply (mentions its funny rather than acknowledging ) totally unprofessional. Funny will he when his business shuts down. There are better places in gorge to eat indian food.

Food is very oily. Unhealthy for sure. Attaching pictures for reference.

Atmosphere – is not realistic pleasant and felt Unhygienic and unprofessional service.

This is not an Indian food, if anyone is looking for a good Indian food definitely not the place

Disappointed
Indian food doesn’t mean serving oil. There was more oil than the curry itself, felt like I ordered oil and curry came as complimentary.

I always attached picture for reference.

Lovely aromatic food. So happy to have this restaurant here. They have not been open long so looks a little sterile for decor, but slowly we see that they are adding to it. Service is very friendly but also seems easily distracted (we had to wait sometime once we had finished our meal for them to bring our check but otherwise food came out very quickly and all of it was delicious.) my favorite dish so far is the paneer biryani – such amazing flavors ! Everyone in our party loved their food. We will definitely be back!

Really pleased with our chicken korma and butter chicken today. It was nice to be able to schedule our order, and the service at pick up was great. Will eat here again for sure!

Delicious authentic Indian food! The samosas, butter chicken and garlic naan were our favorites. Friendly service and food arrived quickly and piping hot. It’s off the beaten path but absolutely worth a stop. We will be back! So happy to have this in The Gorge!

Update: had the boneless chicken biryani as suggested. I was fantastic! Changed my rating to a solid 5.

Had a wonderful late lunch here of Chicken Biryani, Eggplant curry, and butter naan. Food was very good and the eggplant curry was done to perfection. I would have given the food a 5, except the chicken biryani, although it was very delicious, was very difficult to eat the chicken. It was unidentifiable chicken parts with lots of little bones. Wish they served it like they do at their restaurant in the Dalles. Prefer chicken meat off the bone or on legs or thighs.
