Like other reviewers, I loved the truffle mushroom udon —so rich and delicious, and the leftovers were just as good the next day!
Also ordered the sushi sampler, but was disappointed with the inari. I found there was too much of one filling in each of the 3 different types: egg, guacamole, and salmon. The egg had a nice soft texture, but it was just too much egg and rather filling. The guacamole (mashed avocado with onion flavour) didn’t go great with rice and parmesan (too mushy and boring). The salmon poke had a good marinade but was too rubbery (it had the texture & fattiness of farmed salmon). I think the inari would be much better with a variety of fillings.. maybe some added sliced cucumber or peppers, or shredded nori. The salmon, tuna, and ebi oshi were pretty tasty, as was the futomaki. I also enjoyed the green tea that had a bit of a sweet floral flavour.
The restaurant was very casual but clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, some of the indoor chairs were uncomfortable patio chairs that were too low for the tables.
The server was friendly, and she kindly provided descriptions of the menu items.
I debated whether or not to give 4 stars instead of 3 because I’d definitely go back again for the truffle mushroom udon, but I was just too turned off by the inari, which I couldn’t even finish.

Went there today with my friend and was pleasantly surprised that New West has such a cozy restaurant with welcoming staff.

The food was great, and the presentation was beautiful. We ordered the aburi salmon and shrimp popcorn to share—the salmon was top-notch.

I ordered the clam udon for myself. I loved the flavor, but there was a bit too much sand in the clams. Other than that, it tasted fresh and delicious. Highly recommended this place and will be back to try their limited lunch tray!

Reviews looked great so I had to check it out. Came on a Saturday, no wait.
Right near the New Westminster skytrain station. I really liked this restaurant because:
– Presentation of food was excellent
– Presentation was backed up with unique and delicious flavors
*Daily Tray: First come first serve 20 people* So worth it imo
– The Strawberry Matcha was a dessert drink, yum!
– The Inari was loaded with Salmon
– Order at the counter, pay, and they bring you the food & drinks
– Service was friendly and given with care
*Not sure why this restaurant is not getting media hype
Highly recommend!

The food is delicious. Lots of interesting choices. We shared the truffle udon, the miso pork udon (not pictured), the poke, and the assorted sushi

I love the Ahi Tuna Poke! I’ve had it twice now and it was equally delicious both times! The Matcha Strawberry Swirl and Yuzu Mojito are also incredible.

I highly recommend as a date or for a friend catch-up! Lovely clean and calm atmosphere.

I love Kioku Kitchen, my favorites are their tomato and shrimp udon and their salmon oshi, always my go to options. Although their truffle mushroom udon is a little to much mushrooms for me, but if you love mushrooms then I definitely recommend that one. The service is great, they’re very nice and caring. I LOVE the atmosphere, it’s calming with lots of plants and upbeat music(feels best when you come on rainy days) and the seating is very comfy.

I love their lunch promo—you get a variety of dishes on one tray for an affordable price. Everything tasted fresh and was very filling. This has become my go-to spot for lunch whenever I’m craving Japanese food. Great value and great flavors!

I gotten the truffle mushroom udon and It tasted good and had lots of flavour! Though I’m not sure if I would order it again as there wasn’t a wow factor, but I’ll definitely come again to try the other dishes 🙂 The servers there were also incredibly friendly and offered amazing service.

Lovely little spot by New West Station with good food and service. We enjoyed the lunch set and matcha strawberry drink. The only downside was the lack of a changing table in the washroom, but would otherwise come back again.
