Reviews
I had high expectations for Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. The truffle pasta looked appealing, but the white truffle was clearly not fresh — it lacked both aroma and flavor, which was incredibly disappointing.
Both the salmon and cod dishes were bland, with soggy skin that missed the mark on texture and taste. While the food was passable, it was far from memorable, and certainly not worth the premium pricing.
Overall, the restaurant feels overrated and overpriced for the quality it delivers. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a truly refined dining experience in Hamburg.
I was in Hamburg for 3 days sightseeing and wanted to eat good food in a nice restaurant.
It looked very beautiful, but the seasoning destroyed the goodness of the ingredients. I’m not used to eating salty food, so it was too salty. But for locals, it may be normal. Couldn’t continue so left the food and asked for the bill. They offered a coffee, but I didn’t want to continue for my stomach.
Also some waitresses were not professional. Example: Spitting up to the sink what she drank in front of a guest. I am not sure it was alcohol or other… but it should not be in a disgusting way…. I lost appetite.
For visiting this restaurant, to be referred how they replied. Also the low rated reviews to be considered.
Only negative note on the billing of beverages, which was not totally transparent: tap water is refilled without asking, and charged 4€ per bottle, not disclosed anywhere before the bill.
Drinks are “offered” (as said by the waiters) between courses, but then billed (8€ per glass in our case).
The location only adds to the ambience within the restaurant which is homely in a classy manner.
For starters we had the yellowfin tuna and it was a perfect combination of freshness and texture. For mains we ordered the pork belly and the char which were both cooked to perfection, juicy and with complimentary sides of veggies.
The rhubarb tart dessert was out of this world with a gingery taste wonderfully accompanied by the sweet sauce and the sorbet.
The glasses of champagne and wine we had were both outstanding.
The staff were considerate, friendly, funny, knowledgeable and respectful.
We’ll be back every time we’re in Hamburg.
