The Mackinac island fudge ice cream was one of the best flavors of ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Great quality, portion size and service. Definitely recommend stopping if in the area. Well worth it.

The products are good but all employees when handling the candy should be wearing gloves. An older woman with a space buns hairstyle was handling the fudge without wearing gloves- but everyone else working was – seems pretty obvious she should be! We waited in line for another employee to help us.

Cost wouldn’t be an issue if it was actually high quality fudge. The biggest issue, however, is the owner. He is an elderly fellow who can typically be seen making fudge and sometimes working the counter. My family and I have gone there twice in the last 2 years and each time he was very rude and condescending. I do not recommend.

I purchased a caramel apple for 7.99 + tax and tip. I started eating it at a small table in the shop adjacent to the counter. I came upon a part of the apple that was mushy like applesauce and not very appealing to eat. I told the girl behind the counter. She replied that that happens at the point of entry with the stick. And she was right. It was about the size of a dime and first and narrowly followed along the stick to its peak inside the apple. The rest of the apple was okay, not crispy like I would expect an $8 apple to be. I didn’t ask for a replacement apple as I figured a second one would be the same. The worker did not offer one. That’s all right, I will just pass next time. Oh, and the stick had black marks on it, like burn marks. Not sure why that would be.
