Khaw Glong Thai Restaurant opened its doors in Chaweng since December 2011 and has been in town since. We cook traditional Thai food with care choosing only fresh ingredients. Everything is cooked on the spot and at the moment of order. We use only fresh seafood and cater as well as we can to vegetarian, we take into account customers food allergies whenever possible and try to cook food with different spicy levels to satisfy all our customers. This restaurant is an absolute star. The food is incredibly delicious, beautifully presented—every dish looks and tastes special. The service is outstanding; the waiters are friendly, attentive, and made me feel truly cared for from start to finish. Details stand out, like spotless bathrooms with real hand towels, which says a lot about the level of quality here.
Some of my favorites include the refreshing **papaya salad**, perfectly balanced **Tom Yum soup**, crispy **spring rolls**, flavorful **chicken satay**, and the unforgettable **Tom Yum fried rice**. The **prawn salad** is fresh and vibrant, and the **fish dishes** are cooked to perfection.
Everything about this place—from food to service to atmosphere—exceeds expectations. Highly recommended, and definitely 5 stars all the way!

Gem of a restaurant located just opposite a large mall; I imagine many people will probably settle their meals within the mall itself (which will be a shame).
We went in Jan2026, group of 5, and safe to say all of us will visit it again if we are in Koh Samui.
Restaurant was cozy and well lit, nice and airy. Although there was a sign stating the food might take time to cook, we got our orders fairly fast. Quiet too for a weekday lunch and we could talk easily.
The food was fantastic, we particularly enjoyed the steamed fish. Another personal enjoyment was the Oishi green tea with lemon.
Standard payment options, with cash accepted. Fantastic meal.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. We began with the chicken satay and the peanut sauce was honestly the best we have ever tasted — rich, perfectly balanced and unforgettable. We also had the papaya salad with prawns, which was fresh and vibrant.
The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were warm, friendly, genuinely interested and happy to engage in small talk, which made us feel very welcome.
For the main course, we had the Panang curry and the Pad Kra Pao — and wow, wow, wow. Both dishes were bursting with authentic flavor and cooked to perfection.
We will definitely be coming back several more times during our stay, because it’s rare to eat this well. Highly, highly recommended!!!

I was recommended here by a friend and meet them at here before their departure. I ordered chicken basil, steam fish with thai herbs, chicken pandan leaves and fried rice. It is a very healthy restaurant with clean and light taste. Also they claimed that they do not use msg in their food.
Overall, the food kind of taste very clean but to me its bland, i would prefer a bolder taste. I give a high rating because the aroma of food is there and suitable for people who want clean food.

Vibe: One of my favorite finds on the island. It feels like an oasis of calm just off the busy/touristy Chaweng Beach Road. As a solo diner, I felt very welcome and comfortable here.
Food: I visited twice to try more of the menu. Everything tasted fresh, but the absolute standouts were the Somtum Kung (generous portions of shrimp) and the Harmok Ta-lay (creamy, herby seafood curry served in a coconut).
Tip: Go early. Wednesday at 6:30 PM was easy for a walk-in, but by Friday at 7:40 PM, it was packed.
Summary: A calm oasis for authentic Thai cuisine (great for solo diners). Highly recommended!

We love the Khaw Glong Thai and always eat there on most evening when we are on Samui. Food is delicious and you can look into the kitchen how the thai cooks are preparing it. Ambiente is beautiful in a quiet side road. And the service staff is just phenomenal. Looking forward to our next stay on Samui and to eat here again.
