We celebrated my birthday with dinner at The Oak last night and enjoyed an exceptional experience from start to finish.
Service was a standout. Our server, John, was both attentive and personable, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. We began with cocktails at the bar; the Wright Flight, a gin creation, is particularly notable and highly recommended for enthusiasts of the spirit.
The bone marrow appetizer set an impressive tone for the meal, rich and well-executed. For entrées, my husband opted for the ribeye, which arrived remarkably tender and deeply flavorful. I chose the confit duck—a dish that truly captured the essence of fall, both in presentation and taste.
Desserts maintained the high standard. Think Espresso Martinis can’t get any better? Wrong- make it an affogato poured table side and you’ll be in heaven. The peanut butter pie delivered an elevated take on a classic. The evening concluded with a thoughtful touch: miniature banana breads presented alongside the check—an indulgence we savored with coffee the following morning.
We left with The Oak now our leading recommendation for dining in Raleigh, and we look forward to returning soon.

This was a very nice upscale restaurant downtown Raleigh. We had several amazing dishes – deviled egg topped with a crispy oyster and caviar sauce – unique and savory. We had the beet salad which was on top of a creamy yogurt sauce. The citrus gave a nice pop of zest which paired well with the beets. Our main dishes were the Burger (with bacon jam ) and truffle frites ; and the second dish was the duck legs on top of the most unique slaw.
Environment was beautiful. One booth nearby must have been uncomfortable as we saw multiple groups sit down and ask to move a few mins later. Prices were a bit more than we typically pay on a date night but the food was so incredibly well done it was worth it. Overall a good place for a nice meal.

My wife brought me for my birthday. I can’t speak highly enough regarding the service. Our server, Cameron and the Manager, Nicholas were top tier and deserve all the recognition. The entrees were beyond amazing I had the luxury of trying a beef Wellington while my spouse went for the Strip. Zero complaints. We will definitely return!

Our first experience at Oak Steakhouse was absolutely amazing. We loved how quiet and relaxing it was in there. It didn’t feel or sound chaotic, even though it was busy. We cannot wait to come back out.

Thank you, Alex (our waiter) and team, for a wonderful experience. I hope y’all have the best New Year’s!

Celebrated our son’s 50 BDay here. After an initial issue with our table location which was in front of the kitchen (which should NEVER even be there), the hostess reseated us and from that point on, the night was great..Food and service was top rated. A night to remember.

The Oak Steakhouse does not heat their plates so if you order a steak mid-rare, the steak will become room temperature very quickly. Also, they don’t bake the Oysters Rockefeller on rock salt, also gets cold quickly. The service was spot on.

Oak Steakhouse deserves the highest possible rating for their food, service, and atmosphere. From the moment we walked in until we were seated, the service was exceptional. The experience exceeded both my expectations and my son’s.

The maître d’, Nicholas, was extremely polite and helpful, and Cameron-along with his older brother John-made our time at the table warm, comfortable, and truly enjoyable.

The food was outstanding and far beyond what we expected. It was clear that real thought and care went into each course. The dessert, which included several flavors of homemade ice cream, was incredible.

Typically, after eating a meal of this size, l would leave feeling overly full and uncomfortable. That wasn’t the case here. It’s a reminder that when quality ingredients are used and prepared properly, you can leave feeling satisfied while still wanting more.

Looking forward to returning soon

Oak was a wonderful experience. Our waiter, Paul, was fantastic. I wish we could have him as our waiter every time! He gave great recommendations, was quick to answer questions and food was brought out in a quick timely manner. The food was fantastic. The hanger steak and bone marrow were a great pair to try together with the oak steak sauce, and the Mac and cheese was the perfect amount of cheesy. The bread and butter and oyster Rockefellers were great apps to try. Honestly could’ve done without one of those apps because at the end I was a comfortable full! The peanut butter and Oreo cream pie was the perfect birthday dessert, very rich but so yummy! Definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion!

This was absolutely fantastic, I had the Elk Chops with Chimichurri and the bone marrow Frites. Hands down cooked perfectly, super flavorful!! The drink, an amaretto Sour, best one I have had from any bar. The bartender Mentioned they use fresh lemons and a locally brewed amaretto and the quality showed!
