Cute bakery located inside Asia Mall. The seating area is small, but when we visited it wasn’t busy, so we were able to push two tables together for our group of five.

They have a wide variety of baked goods, though nothing immediately stood out to me at first. I did notice they sell bánh mì sandwich bread (4 for $5), which is such a great deal. My sister spotted the cream buns — since they’ve been trending on Facebook, we decided to give one a try. I believe they were around $3–$4 each. I also picked up a pack of honeycomb cake slices for $5 and some change.

While waiting in line, I noticed their cake slices, which looked amazing. They had pandan & durian and pandan & coconut. I went with the pandan & coconut and was so glad I did — each slice was around $7. My sister-in-law also ordered a BBQ pork bun and a pork dumpling.

We sliced everything up and shared. Here are our thoughts:

Cream Bun (2/5):
The bread was a bit dry, and the cream had a very thick, buttery taste. It wasn’t overly sweet, but it wasn’t my favorite.

BBQ Pork Bun (4/5):
Loved the bread — super soft and fluffy. The BBQ pork filling had a sweet-and-savory flavor, but the seasoning smell wasn’t appealing to our group, which took away from it.

Pork Dumpling (5/5):
This was a standout for me. Crunchy on the outside with a mochi-like texture, and the pork filling was sweet, savory, and very flavorful.

Honeycomb Cake Slices (3/5):
You can clearly taste the pandan, and the honeycomb texture is beautiful . My only critique is that it was a bit dry — I immediately felt like I needed a drink of water.

Pandan & Coconut Cake Slice (5/5):
My favorite item by far. The pandan cake was incredibly soft, and the coconut cake was very moist. Both had the perfect level of sweetness, and the cream wasn’t too sweet either. I would absolutely order a whole cake.

Overall, we had a great experience. The staff stayed behind the cake stand, but they were attentive and helpful. When I noticed they were out of the pandan coconut cake slice, one of the staff members let me know they had more in the back and offered to grab it if I didn’t mind waiting a few minutes.

I would definitely go back — especially for the cake!

Love this place. Lost of fresh varieties. I got some pork buns. The filling was good but the dough to filling ratio was off. There was more dough then filling. Alot of the dough went to waste because on its own it has no flavor and its really dry. Otherwise its a good place to go and get other yummy things.

I went to the original Keefer Court in my undergrad years, when it was originally located on the West Bank at the U of M. I knew this place for 20+ years. This new bakery with the Keefer Court name is not comparable. I’ve given them 4-5 tries and I’m still disappointed. It is NOTHING compared to what it was. Quality and taste is below average to average. The fried sesame ball dough is made so thick. It has the crunch, but it’s too much dough than before. I use to LOVE the puff pastry and buns with curry or the bbq. Those just don’t have a savory sweetness that they use to have. I bought the steam bun to try and the meat was mush like paste! I had maybe two bites of the sesame balls (3 types: mung bean, red bean, black sesame) and steam bun, then threw them away this last time. My sister also recently bought me a couple items, when she stopped in cause she knew how much I loved them before as well. Both items were dish. I use to easily spend $100 and happily purchased pastries to share. I was at the Asia Mall and decided I’ll try other items…i really wanted to believe they could get better. I spent about $22 this last time and was really disappointed. I’m so glad when the original place was closing I waited in line and bought so much that I froze them. I would reheat them and they were so tasty still. This new place I would never. The new place is offering more Vietnamese items as well vs previous place was solely Chinese items. Glad they brought the name and concept back, but they’re lacking in taste and quality. If you like it great! For those who know what it was like from before you will be extremely disappointed.

Service was OK. I was the only one in the shop. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted right away because there wasn’t anyone around. I was there about 4:45PM. Someone finally appeared after a while when I was looking at the bakery items on the outside shelf. They didn’t really offer to help or describe what they had. I just felt rushed even though there was no one there!

The place looks nice, clean and organized. The place is really bright, but not so cozy. I won’t waste my money trying again. I think there won’t be any improvements or changes based on trying when they first opened up at the mall till now.

Came by around noon on a Friday and had no trouble finding parking. Most of the pastries were already gone, so there weren’t a lot of options left. Some of the ones that were still there didn’t have labels, which made it a bit confusing. They did have some vegan options like the spring onion bun, which was nice.

We grabbed a custard bun, spring onion bun, and a vanilla cake roll. The buns were pretty big and tasted okay—on the drier side, but the filling helped a bit. The roll cake wasn’t very moist or fluffy, and it fell apart easily.

The interior was pretty. They do have tables and plastic utensils available if you wanted to dine in. For drinks, they just have coffees.

To preface, we came here midday Sunday afternoon. Per other reviews (and from general knowledge of bakeries, haha) it’s likely best to get here in the morning! This bakery has a variety of breads, rolls, and a smaller selection of desserts than I had expected–although if you’re craving it, they do have a little selection of Sebastian Joe’s ice cream! They have a great deal on banh mi baguettes here, and everything is fairly large in size and fresh. I got the Chè Ba Màu dessert, which is a three layer tri bean dessert topped with jellied pandan. It is light, sweet, and refreshing, but it does have ice chips in it that watered down some of the dessert – another reason to get here in the morning! It was still good, it was just a little off texture-wise. Service itself was fast and nice, and I love the layout of the store. It has a line that wraps around the place, allowing folks to pick and choose items at their leisure (you can even use trays to assemble all your items, if you plan to eat here.)

I was craving Asian pastries so I came here on my lunch break. They didn’t have the Chinese paper-wrapped sponge cakes but they had many other goodies. Makes sense as most of their menu was Vietnamese. Their selection is much smaller than other Asian bakeries in the area but I think they make up for it in quality. As with other similar shops, you grab a tray, a tray liner, and some tongs before making your selections from the display cases.

I got there at 11:30am so almost everything tasted fresh. The custard bun, buttercream horn, and savory sticky rice dumpling were the perfect texture, flavorful yet not too sweet for the desserts, and fairly priced for the size. Generally, everything is half that size in Asia, but they’re marketing to a mostly American crowd. The only thing I don’t recommend is the Bánh Bò Nướng–a steamed honeycomb cake. The pandan flavoring was extremely artificial and it somehow tasted like old cooking oil. However, if you’re looking for a savory snack please try their Sticky Rice Dumpling stuffed with pork. So, so good! It closely resembles my Mom’s so I will definitely be coming back for that, the cream horns, and cake rolls!

My husband and I tried it here and it was a great experience. I will say if you’re not a fan of bread, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. I didn’t realize this bakery was 99% bread. The only thing good to me was the barbecue pork bread 6/10. I also got the cake pictured below 3/10 not really a treat in my opinion. If you like less sugar maybe a good option. The other thing pictured to me was not so great in our opinion very bean tasting. If you like desserts, which is part of the name I recommend going elsewhere. The prices are pretty average for bakery with most items being around 4/5 dollars. As someone who has been looking into this businesses window, since they’ve been building a little disappointed, as I thought they would have more dessert options that weren’t all beans or all bread desserts. No real customer service, I wasn’t really greeted and they were out of things…

Delicious! Tried the Coconut Roll, Cream Cone, Buttercream layer cake, and the BBQ Tofu Bun. The texture of the cake was superb. Spongy yet dense. The cream was divine. The tofu bun was slightly sweet, soft and warm— easily could be a fast small lunch. And that coconut bun! Magical be d of buttery savory roll with sweet delectable coconut bubbles. The cream roll was not my fave: light crispy pastry exterior and light airy cream. Just did it fund the amazing texture and nuanced flavor wow of the other items. Service was friendly. Decor was elegant and oh so pretty. The complimentary infused water was a wonderful touch, and helped cleanse the palette before tasting a different treat. Highly recommend!!!

Had a great time at Keefer Court’s grand opening at the Asia Mall last weekend! Despite a long line, the clean, modern setting and the limited but cozy seating didn’t detract from the experience. The bakery’s bread items are tasty, and the Southeastern desserts, including Che Bao Mao, are worth trying. Initially skeptical, I was pleasantly surprised by a staff-recommended curry beef bun, although I found the bread-to-filling ratio higher than I’d like, akin to traditional styles but different from Korean bakeries. Keefer Court offers a unique dive into authentic flavors, guided by helpful staff. Worth a visit for those curious about culinary diversity, just keep the bread-to-filling preference in mind.

The bread (baquette) was really crunchy and yummy, we got several treats so it’s very hard to tell which one is the best … I loved the place super cute and the packaging is really fancy.
