We really enjoyed our quick breakfast at Kaya’s. Casual atmosphere with plenty of options – we tried the Pete Special, an everything bagel with cream cheese, pesto, tomato, cheese, and sprouts, and the PB&J granola bar. Both were delicious. My matcha latte was well-made. Overall, a great place to stop for a coffee and breakfast treat before a day of exploring the island.

Wow. We had the Pete Special and it was phenomenal. It’s an open-faced bagel topped with pesto, cream cheese, eggs, cheese, onions, tomato, cucumber, sprouts, and avocado. Though that’s all we got, we highly recommend this place. The vegetables were so fresh and everything worked so well together.

Kaya’s was a nice cafe that served good coffee and vegan/GF friendly food! We ordered a large hot and iced white mocha, green smoothie, Egg & Cheese on Everything Bagel, Pete Special, and a Lazy Samoa.

Mmm mm mm bagel sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. Eat in or take out, either way gives the chance to browse local artist’s work. Pottery, paintings, jewelleries and handicrafts, and local gourmet foods.

Great little Organic cafe with Vegan and GF options. Best Dark Roast Kona I’ve had.

The best breakfast spot on the island! Get here early because they sell out of the baked goods, most GF and/or vegan. Excellent coffee and teas and a fun shop with bath products and other locally made lotions etc. highlight for food was the GF veggie quiche and GG berry granola bar. They also had GG pumpkin pie which was going fast.

Excellent food and coffee. The best gluten-free options we have found on the Island. We tried Pete’s Special on the GF focaccia bread and Kaya’s bean burger on an everything bagel, with a latte and macchiato. They also had a ton of GF baked items like scones, quiche and brownies. Definitely check this place out! PS. They also had lots of vegan options too.

Such a cute place we came here 4 times in the week we were here. The smoothies were fantastic, bagels to die for and fun fresh pastries each morning. Plus the best coffee we had on the island.

I adore this place. My family have visited Big Island twice from Canada and every time we go we make several visits to Kaya’s. The coffee is superb, the food is delicious (those brownies..omg), my kids are obsessed with their smoothies and all of the staff we had the pleasure of interacting with were lovely. And then there’s the geckos! There are geckos all over the place on the porch and in the plants. If you find yourself in Kona you absolutely must find your way to Kaya’s for a bite to eat and a gander at the geckos.

Really cool idiosyncratic cafe on the mountain road with quality coffee options and a wide selection of vegan and gluten free breakfast options. The egg and cheese sandwich hits the spot but you can also turn it up or down with alternatives. I hope to come back!
