This is my favorite location because they have everything you need. They have Katsu Bar with plenty of options from katsu, chicken, noodles/tteokbokki and other Korean and Japanese dishes. They also Have Poke bar and Latte drinks options.
The seating is nice casual. Ambiance is modern and inviting. I really hope this location becomes really successful because finally there’s a legit yummy Asian food in Glendale.
Service is amazing, the server is very nice and helpful. This is now my go to Asian food in Glendale! I’m obsessed with the food and it’s very affordable with big portions.
Food is really yummy and I’m obsessed with the katsu and their noodles.
KATSU BAR
108 W Wilson Ave, Glendale, CA 91203
What I got:
Tteokbokki with Katsu
Korean Gang Jung (tender bites)
Rosemary katsu with Sando
Chicken Katsu Plate with Curry
Strawberry Sando
Strawberry Matcha Latte
Strawberry Ade
They also offer hot wings and tteokbokki, so there’s a little bit of everything for everyone. But hands down, my favorite dish was the shrimp tempura. The batter was perfectly light and crispy, not greasy at all, and the shrimp were cooked just right—honestly one of the best tempuras I’ve had in a while.
Overall, everything tasted fresh, comforting, and well-prepared. If you’re in Glendale and craving hearty Japanese comfort food with a twist, Katsu Bar is definitely worth checking out. I’ll for sure be back to try more of the menu.
We started with the kimchi mandu. Nice and crispy on the outside and filled with kimchi. So tasty and so gone cause we ate them so quickly.
Next, we got a shrimp katsu sando. Each sando had two pieces of shrimp katsu. The katsu was crispy on the outside and the shrimp was nice and moist.
We also got a chicken curry plate. The chicken was large and so moist. The curry was also really good. A very filling meal.
We got an apple chili pork katsu sandwich. The apple and pork work so well together like apple sauce and pork chops.
The last savory item we got was the Korean street food omelet sando. The omelet works so well as a sando. Just perfect.
To end the meal we got a strawberry sando. The cream and fresh strawberries are the perfect way to end the meal.
Fantastic service and food will make this your go-to katsu spot.
Katsu and mushroom sandos 9/10, bread wasn’t as soft as I expected but the rest was delicious.
Waffle fries 10/10 my gosh, perfectly crispy and seasoned.
Shrimp katsu curry 9/10 (great portion of shrimp but they’re on the small to average size).
Katsu tteokbokki 10/10 (I love tteokbokki).
Strawberry sando for dessert, 8/10 it was a little sweeter than expected and the bread, again, just wasn’t that fluffy or soft like a true Japanese sandwich.
Overall it was an extremely satisfying meal.
(delayed review, visit was october 2025)
I had:
1. Tteokbokki
2. Chicken yaki udon
3. Spicy chicken udon
4. Fried calamari
5. Korean gang jung (tender bites) – honey garlic
6. Cauliflower tempura
7. Coleslaw
8. Rosemary pork katsu sando with waffle fries
The mushroom tempura was hot and flavorful. The plate was huge for a regular and I wish I had a bigger stomach.
Service was good and prompt. Very nice.
And the place is very clean with ample seating. Music selection was great hahah.
I will most definitely be coming back for a sando! There are sandwhiches and there are sandos and yes there is a difference! They both look great. And pubo pockets look like they hit the spot for anyone looking for a quick bite.
They even have poke! So if you’re hungry be sure to check it out and you’re bound to find something you like. They have weekday specials too! So be sure to go in for those!
Self service order if you don’t want to talk to anyone.
Food is excellent. Japanese curry is tasty and can be mild if you are not used to the spices. Beef katsu is burger patty style and very tender (not dry and hard like many places I have been to)
Udon black garlic katsu have excellent umami taste.
Secret appetizer not on the board is shrimp Katsu tempura, tender shrimp crunchy exterior and excellent mayo dipping sauce is to die for.
Came here on grand opening day and was treated to free rosemary chicken Sando.
If you are in the area, give this place a try. I enjoyed everything I tried so far.
Also, try the shaved ice. You won’t regret it.
