The sign out front saying “fine dining” may be old and ragged, but it’s no joke. That was the finest meal I’ve had in a long time. Blackened catfish over grits with succotash, oh my. Onion rings were enticing, but the appetizer shrimp were to die for. The butter, herbs, fresh bread… get it.

We visited for the first time last night. I was so excited based on all of the great things I’ve heard over the years. VERY DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. We waited over an hour for our meal. Most of our table ended up not eating even 1/2 if their order. Food was not good. Pasta was under cooked & fish was overcooked. Wait staff was overwhelmed. Didn’t seem like staff worked together as a team. Such a different experience than what I expected.

Sunday Night and nowhere to eat in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Kathryn’s (about 30 minutes away) was recommended by Megan at The Shack Up Inn, and it was great. Terrific salad, and the steak was unforgettably amazing. Cool location right on Moon Lake. I’ll be back. Maybe tonight!!!

I just experienced the BEST meal I have had since moving to Mississippi three years ago. The Grilled Catfiish with Kathryns Salad as a side was incredible. The fish was amazingly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The locally famous Kathryns Salad as a side was the exact compliment the fish deserved.
