Yes! The food was amazing! Being a vegetarian, it can be hard to get a nice meal out that’s not a salad and this place met my need for a hot plate of deliciousness. The collards were the best I’ve had outside of my own. That cabbage and rice with a little spicy kick, just too good. I love me some plantains and Karubees hit the spot with them. It’s real home cooked food here. If you’ve been thinking about trying this place just go now. Your taste buds will thank you later.

At Karubees , my boyfriend and I were greeted by the owners Wife , who was extremely nice and helpful. She allowed me to try the goat meat because I was unfamiliar with the dish. She catered to my taste and recommended us the best dishes! The food was amazing! Best restaurant in Charleston, WV! 🙂

This place is an absolute hidden gem. I ordered the lunch special with jerk chicken, white rice, and mixed veggies. Plenty of food on the plate (as you can see in the picture) for $15 (with a drink).

Visiting Charleston for the weekend and wanted something fun for lunch- Karubees menu is amazing and we wanted to try everything. Best lunch I have had in a very long time, and after we finished there was enough food for three days of lunch left. Chicken and goat curry, jerk chicken, oxtails, Mac and cheese, collard greens, rice and peas, fried plantains….. Everything was AMAZING and has its own flavor. Bina was an amazing host and took great care of us, definitely will return when I’m back in Charleston.

This place is such a gem. The best Jamaican food I’ve had in a restaurant in the United States (yes – even better than New York and the greater Miami area). If you’re not lucky enough to have a Jamaican family, this is as good as it gets outside the island.

Go here. I’ve been to some absolutely amazing Jamaican spots in the Keys, Florida, Brooklyn and across the country — and I would have never guessed a place in a relatively small West Virginia town would have them beat. The jerk chicken and jerk shrimp were Absolute hidden gem. If you’re even remotely considering — stop here.

Succulent, fall off the bone, Jamakin me crazy. Seriously though, I was a pescatarian before eating here. I’m glad I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try the curry and jerk chicken. The stewed cabbage and rice rounded out a terrific meal. Great service and glad they took care of us so close to closing time. Thank you Karubees

This place was delicious! I love everything we ordered. The shrimp curry, the brown chicken, and the cloud bread were all cooked perfectly and went well together. The collard greens and rice also added the perfect complement to the meal. My husband picked it up and he received outstanding customer service and such kindness. That is hard to come by these days. I highly recommend giving this place a try!!!

Disappointed got the oxtail lunch it was only 2 bones for $18 I could’ve went an got a pound for $10.99 yes came with 2 sides rice and cabbage I’m from Florida and these oxtail taste like the the marinade they sell at Publix no scotch bonnet pepper cooked with them very flavorless the curry goat was good though ‍♀️ everyone does things differently but if ur looking for authentic Jamaican style oxtail with flavor and spice this isn’t that.

I wasn’t expecting food to be this good in West Virginia as I’m just driving through. I had curry chicken with collards and steamed veggies, fall off the bone chicken and the flavor was incredible. I didn’t know steamed veggies could even have that much flavor, collards were also spiced perfectly. However I recommend getting the large if your hungry I don’t know how much food comes with the medium but if I had any less food I feel I wouldn’t be satisfied, large is the perfect amount of food for a meal if you don’t get one of the sides of rice. I’ll definitely be back, incredible food.
