It was so good we came back!! We had the bento box both times for lunch.. it was the biggest bento box I’ve ever seen. On the 2nd trip back, they had free Rangoon day everything was delicious and service was excellent both times!! Will definitely be back if working in the area again.

I understand that we don’t live close to the coast, and the plate was cheap all things considered, but presentation was sub-par, there were two white fish cuts which are normally used as filler on a sashimi platter, and the tuna isn’t real tuna, or if it is, it’s a horrible cut they are buying. The salmon was decent, though.

The sushi I got was great I was disappointed in the plating they put it in a small starafoam box and for the price of the roll it should have been in a box where everything wasn’t smushed together and had room for the soy sauce. I was also on hold for 7 minutes and had been forgotten about. Because when I called back the server told me she forgot about me.

In my opinion probably the best Sushi place in Evansville. My wife and I went for supper and the food was excellent. Our server, Lillie was extremely friendly and personable. Her genuine personality made us want to come back. If you want sushi or interesting Asian influenced dishes Kanpai is always a good choice..

Kanpai has been hit or miss for a long time and just isn’t worth the risk. They have other Sushi Restaurants that are way more consistent with the food. Went with a this week and place is way too bright (personal dislike) and the Crab Rangoons were good as was some of the other sushi but ordered some Eel Sushi and it was not good, I mean like at all, was grey and nasty. If your product isn’t fresh, don’t sell it. I would rather hear we are out of something then be served bad quality food. It ruined my dates experience. This is why I stopped going and only returned because my date wanted to go, now probably neither of us will return.
