This restaurant is absolutely deserving of every accolade it has ever received. The food, the service, the ambiance – all top notch. Portions and pace of meal were spot on. Our servers were so attentive and very informative of the food they were serving. Such a unique experience and served in such a unique way. Highly recommend.

My husband and I celebrated his birthday here while we were in town for a business conference. Their awards were why we booked and boy, did they live up to the hype. Our waitstaff “team” were attentive and incredibly knowledgeable regarding the dishes offered, as well as the local history and Native American influence. The food and its presentation were excellent. To top off the delightful experience, my husband was given a small gift in celebration of his birthday.

My husband brought me here for my birthday last night and it was such a special treat. From the time we arrived to us actually driving home, everything was perfect. When we arrived, the hostesses took the valet pass and ensured our car would be ready and waiting when we were done. We were immediately escorted to our tables where our chairs were pulled for us and napkins folded and laid on our laps. We were given a thorough history lesson on tribal artwork, food, culture, and how it is expressed throughout the restaurant and dining experience. The menu itself takes you on its own journey, and a very special one at that.

Easily the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From the gorgeously told story in the menu and plating, to the most cohesive yet shocking flavors, to the respectful treatment of the cuisine and culture, this was a transcendent meal.

I had a perfect experience at Kai and the team really delivered on all the AAA 5-diamond requirements. I will go back and highly recommend it because the team made me feel good and I enjoyed the Arizona agriculture focus along with bold wine pairings. The tasting menu had a variety of choices with 4 of the 5 courses having 3 options each. The wine pairing was also done based on the course choices, and it was the best wine pairing I’ve ever experienced because the selections were bold and unexpected. For example, my first mushroom and parsnip course started with a heavy tannic red which was a fantastic way to start. I was eating alone, and the entire crew kept me entertained while also giving me time to enjoy the food and wine. This was a flawless experience I hope others will enjoy.

This place is pretty cool; it’s a spin on native dishes. Multiple courses, each only a few bites, all creative and delish. We went to the lobby bar first for cocktails, then hopped over to the other restaurant for another drink, before heading to Kai. Service was great, nobody rushed us, servers were happy to explain the ideas behind each dish. The lodge itself is really pretty too. Dinner is preset, and quite expensive so be prepared. But we didn’t leave hungry!

The experience you’ll have here is unlike any other. The menu is thoughtfully and extensively described, as is the history of each dish. This happens at each course, which was a little exhausting for us. Lots of pomp and circumstance, but the meal backs it up — it was incredible. Creatively prepared and plated. Small portions, but I only say small because each dish is so enjoyable that you wish there were more bites left. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed. We did not do the wine pairing, so I can only speak to the cocktails, which were just as delicious as the rest of the meal. For a special occasion, Kai needs to be on your list.

Extraordinary feasting experience. From the help to food we appreciated everything. We didn’t coordinate with wine so all things considered we attempted four mixed drinks that were arranged fabulously. Once more, generally speaking the experience was astonishing and would return.
