Kaffeehaus de Châtillon is the real deal, an authentic, traditional Viennese coffee house where the recipes are 200–300 years old.

They don’t modernize or “tweak” anything, and I honestly love and respect that. It feels like you’re stepping into another country the moment you walk in.

One thing to note: their website makes it clear they cater to “polite & sophisticated adult clientele,” so I wouldn’t consider this a kid-friendly spot. And once you’re there, you get why, it’s the steakhouse of coffee houses. Very refined, very calm, and beautifully grown-up.

My wife and I have been twice now. We go right before the rush and have had no problem getting a seat. Everything we’ve tried has been amazing, and they serve your coffee with a small glass of lavender water, which is such a thoughtful, traditional Viennese touch.

I ordered the apple tart and it was huge, topped with whipped cream and absolutely delicious (I finished every bite). My wife had a croissant that was simple but incredible: everything-bagel seasoning with a smoky cheese that worked surprisingly well.

The place is spotless, the service has been top notch both visits, and parking is plentiful.

If you want a sophisticated coffee experience that feels special and truly authentic, this is the spot.

I have had this on my list for a while and it did not disappoint. The barista was patient and calmly explained and answered questions. They even helped me with the pronunciations which was fun. The pommes gallette was absolutely delicious. I ordered the einspanner
And loved the flavor. I asked for a side of cream because the coffee is strong. This place actually seems even more traditional than the Kaffeehouses that I went to in Vienna due to the breath of options and presentation.

This is such a unique and rare Viennese café! The drinks are always served with a specifically paired still or sparkling water! The service is great and they will patiently walk you through the menu and help you pick a drink!

• Wiener Schokolade ⭐️4.5/5 (like a mocha but less sweet/more rich and bold) I RECOMMEND THIS ONE!!
• Châtillon Chai ⭐️3/5 (VERY sweet, but a great non-coffee option)
• Salon Einspãnner ⭐️3/5 (the espresso shot mixed with brewed coffee in the “Kaffee Spezialitäten” options make the drink a bit more watery)

The pastry was a bit dry and stiff… I would probably stick with drinks here 🙂

My first experience to try their coffee. It’s different than other coffee’s places, rich, strong, and tasty. It’s nice to try different kinds of coffee, but it’s not the best. The place is cozy and warm. I highly recommend people to try different kinds of espresso.

Such a special little find—truly a hole-in-the-wall gem. This coffee house has an unmistakable European vibe and feels like stepping back in time to Vienna. I loved that they serve traditional Austrian coffee drinks instead of the usual menu, and the croissants were absolutely incredible. So cozy, charming, and full of character. I’ll definitely be back.

Super fun coffee stop! We have been basic Starbucks people for a long time, but we were looking for a fun coffee house in the area when we stumbled across this and decided to check it out. Very nice inside, with comfy chairs and small tables to sit around. The coffee was delicious, but be aware, not the same as the standard coffees you are used to here in Seattle, Be prepared to try something different. Service was great, they serve you at your table and clear the table for you as well. They also have top quality European style croissants, and danishes, tortes and other bites. Highly recommend you break your coffee mold and try this out!

Amazing coffee and such friendly staff. It was our first time here and staff was super kind and gave us recommendations on what to order according to what we normally enjoyed in coffee. The pastry was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was so cozy. Will for sure be back!

Delicious! Do not come here if you’re looking for something you’d get at a big box chain. I don’t even know what normal coffee things are called so it was easy for me to just ask questions and figure out what we’d like. I’m not going to bore you with things you can already find in other reviews but! With traditional recipes dating 200-300 years old. You must go.

It’s fun because it feels a little “fancy” but seems to be a lot of regulars. To keep the line down, I hope you do more research than I did.

We ordered 3 small drinks and a turkey croissant with cheese. Everything was so delicious! The inside/ outside seating areas are comfy and warm feeling. My grandfather is from Austria and this sparked a lot of fun research for me. We will be back for larger cups!

Enjoy!

The best place for a taste of Europe.
The service is above any other place I have been and the atmosphere is more enjoyable than most coffee place options.
They don’t make anything that’s on a regular coffee house menu.
They will recommend on your likes.
The pastries are delicious and they have better options.
They are extremely knowledgeable.
It’s in Lynnwodd off of 148th and Jefferson and it’s a must visit location.
Your drinks are served on a silver tray and they do not want their customers to bus their own tables.
It’s a real treat to go here. ❤️☀️

Austrian style coffee shop with a really nice ambience and a unique coffee menu unlike anything you’d find on Starbucks or any other American coffeeshop. It’s quite a drive from Seattle or Redmond but so worth it.

They’ve got a decaf and tea menu too.
