I have to start this review by saying the waitress Ramona was exceptional went above and beyond her duties. That being said I can only give two stars, here is why. Never have I ever been asked by the kitchen staff on the ingredients of the dish I ordered. My wife had a Ruben sandwich for lunch and we where asked by the cook staff what went on a Ruben. Even then the cook was unable to make it correctly as he did not put the dressing on the sandwich even after being told the Ingredients. I ordered an open faced roast beef. My bread was toasted and hard I find this to be incorrect as open faced roast beef has always been white bread (non toasted) roast beef and brown gravy. During my 40 minutes wait for food (as well as the only pending order at the time) my waitress had to go to the kitchen to make the gravy. The quality of food and kitchen staff is what prevents me from giving more than 2 overall stars. It appears the kitchen staff had no experienced cooks or maybe doesn’t care at all. I also found it distasteful that the line cook was dressed in a sleeveless shirt wich is against any dress code I have ever encountered in my career as a chef and kitchen manager.

Food came out fast and was good besides hash browns. They weren’t crispy like I like them. Soggy. The place was dirty. Bathrooms were filthy. Toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a month. Sky was friendly but seemed to be having an ok morning.

I ordered the breakfast eggs, meat, hashbrowns, and toast. I got the eggs and meat, but toast was delivered very late, and hashbrowns not at all. I told the server and she said he forgot to do the hashbrowns and she would take $2 off the ticket. (It was $4 more for hashbrowns). Except after paying the ticket and getting my email, she never took hashbrowns off the ticket.

The food and service were great. The owner is a massive jerk. While we were finishing our meal, he was berating his cook and waitress. He was yelling at them for 2 things that he was wrong about, and of course, he didn’t apologize. He was absolutely awful. I won’t go back.

Good wholesome food and people. Healthy portions, Not to mention some very good cheesecake for dessert. There was nothing wrong with the place. But I must say I did have problems finishing my meal. A older lady walked in to the restaurant and was crying as she was passing out her husband’s obituary. Before you know it I found myself in a conversation with the lady, her husband died from covid. She was a sweet older hillbilly Kinda like myself. It was difficult for me to hold back the tears and days later at this very moment sitting by myself this seems like the perfect opportunity to let myself cry for her. enough said 4 stars
