We love Julie’s Kitchen – the service, food, welcoming smiles…
My husband and I stopped in today after being away for quite awhile (we make the drive from Monument when we can), and our kids were upset they weren’t there! Each item we’ve had has been delicious. We are locals of Guam and Hawaii with Filipino ancestry and Julie’s has been a fave of ours when we need our local fix. Thank you, Julie’s Kitchen! Please open a location in Nothern CoSp! xo

Julie’s Kitchen is a quaint small “Mom and Pop” restaurant where you will get delicious Hawaiian and Filipino food, priced extremely well. You will be greeted with a smile and good conversation from Julie. I have tried a decent amount of their items and have nailed down the best.

FOOD:
– The Chicken Katsu is fantastic. My children love it. It is freshly made, large portions and tastes good. The katsu sauce is good.
– The Korean Chicken is also good. It has a breading similar in style to Chinese food. It is similar to the Katsu but with a different texture in the batter.
– The short ribs have good flavor but the texture was off.
– The Mac salad is delicious and the rice portions are large.
– We stay away from most of the Filipino dishes after trying them but do enjoy the Lechon.
– Some additional drink options would be nice.

SERVICE:
The service is really nice here. Julie and Romeo are both very friendly and will remember you once you have come more than once. I enjoy my conversations with Julie.

ATMOSPHERE:
This is where I have to hit them hard. First, the inside can be pretty dirty and the building shows signs of age everywhere. The bathroom is iffy. The BIGGEST issue is the area around the restaurant. It is super ghetto and there are homeless vagrants everywhere. I would not feel comfortable coming here late at night without “protection”.

Overall, Julie’s Kitchen is a nice little spot with really good Hawaiian Food. If you are like me and you no longer go to L&L because they went downhill, come here.

I found Julie’s kitchen on instagram and sent my husband there for dinner. He raved about the food, but more than that, Julie and her husband treated my husband with such kindness. Thank you for giving my husband a great experience at your restaurant! He also loves the Ube dessert! ❤️

The worst place to eat had terrible food and service. I ordered pancit, lechon kawali, and chicken curry, but the pancit was overcooked. The husband and wife managing the place served big portions, but I couldn’t eat the food. When I asked for a to-go bag, the wife gave me attitude, and her husband later yelled at me aggressively, saying I was causing trouble. I explained that I just asked for a plastic bag, and my friend told him not to yell at me. The restaurant was also dirty, with staff not wearing hairnets and handling food with bare hands. This place is a disaster, and the owners’ behavior is unacceptable.

Lovely couple. Very friendly and the food, oh my gosh! It’s so good. I remember coming here back in 2015. Brings back memories. The only downfall is the homeless people. It’s bad for business to have homeless people around. Trashing the outside of the restaurant. Not cool. But the owners are so positive! Love them!

Very much a hole in the wall, but amazing food. Reminded me of Hawaii.
The kalua pork is a little different, but the plate with kalbi, rice , and Mac is amazing . Lumpia’s are great. As well as the Filipino dishes such as pancit and lechon.

As others have said, portions are big (I ate about 1/2 of my pork adobo prior to taking the picture) and parking is ample. Shady area but felt super safe inside. I was met with kindness, great hospitality, and was served promptly. The lumpia was amazing and crispy and the adobo pork was flavorful. I didn’t care for the cassava cake (BUT I have nothing to compare it to, probably just personal preference), and the rice was adequate (see below)

My ONLY complaint: I ordered the 2 item plate: pancit and adobo pork but got rice instead of pancit. I didn’t notice until I got home…I don’t care too much for rice…BUT it was really good. I was just a little disappointed because I went FOR pancit.

I will definitely return to try the pancit and for the wide array of flavorful options.

Enjoyed our lunch here. Very nice owners. They care a lot about their customers. Pancit in general is simple but I loved theirs Priced well and interior is what I would expect any Filipino-Hawaiian restaurant to be. I’d come back any day!
