Our lovely cottage restaurant was built in the 1920’s by Mr. Robinson for his wife, and remained their residence until the 1960’s.

The Julian Grille is located on the Main Street in the town of Julian CA. The town itself is a quaint spot with lots of history. We were excited to find a place for lunch that welcomes dogs. They actually have a dog menu that includes hamburger patty, chicken patty and a couple other choices. We ordered a French dip sandwich and ravioli. Both were great and the service was very good. The outdoor eating area was nice and we had a great view from our table. The inside dining rooms looked fun as well.

Great menu! The hot apple cider is fabulous. The apple pie dessert was way too expensive considering that the apple pies are made in town. Service was efficient but never very friendly or welcoming. First time visiter.

Cute place, tasty food & great service. I had the trout almondine & my husband had the ribeye. Both we’re good. The baked brie appetizer was amazing. We also enjoyed the chocolate cake! When we first walked up it was very off-putting to see 2 different signs directing us to be nice & respectful…ect. It made us anticipate bad service & attitudes & to basically not complain about it. Not a good way to set the mood, but we gave it a try & weren’t disappointed.

The hostess wasn’t really nice and had an earbud in her ear the whole time. I don’t it as long as she gets our order right which she didn’t. I asked for homemade lemonade she said oh yeah it’s homemade she brought some store bought lemonade I asked her manager about it she said oh yeah we don’t have homemade. Okkkkk. And then I asked for a small slice of berry pie to go, wrapped in aluminum foil and she brought it in a box. Maybe remove your earbud? Also, the bread isn’t good at all. Grilled cheese was OK. The other waitress was really nice and pro. I mean they were both nice

Went here for lunch with my wife while in Julian. Looks like they built the restaurant in a what used to be a residential house. Nice and clean inside. Happened to be raining the day we went so eating outside wasn’t an option. Good was good but not great. A little bland for my taste. The only thing that was a bit strange were their prices on the menu were substantially more then they advertise online. Probably would choose somewhere else next time.

The Julian Grille is a great spot to stop and have a relaxing lunch on their breezy outdoor beer terrace. Get there promptly at 1100 when they first open and grab the table by the waterfall fountain to enjoy the soothing sounds of the trickling water and appreciate the ambience that dulls the sounds of nearby conversations and traffic. Located conveniently across the street from the Apple Pie Company which should be your next stop for coffee and dessert. I had the Wrangler which was delicious and very filling. It’s a Philly cheesesteak with Au jus and comes with a choice of side salad, soup or fries. The side salad was a decent size for a side and the house Apple pecan vinaigrette is delicious. My wife had the tuna salad but substituted a salmon filet on top instead of tuna and was equally satisfied. If planning a trip to the cozy town of Julian definitely consider adding Julian Grille to your itinerary. You will be glad that you did.

We made a reservation ahead of time for a party of 16 for my father’s memorial. The servers were wonderful and sensitive and very attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this as a place for any family gathering dinner or even just a nice place to stop for a lunch. Thank you Julian grill you guys did great!

I love the set up of the restaurant. It’s so inviting and relaxing. You have an option to sit indoors or dine outside. We went on a late Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was not packed so we were seated right away.

The food was probably the best in Julian. The girls do their best, but the service is a little slow. But the food made up for that.
