Hidden gem in an unimposing atmosphere. The sushi and rolls are delicious, and the owner/chef & staff are friendly and helpful. The food is MUCH better than most overpriced sushi restaurants on the waterfront. This is our go-to sushi place!

Very well made sushi, we always come here. The food is consistently good and well priced. 10/10 recommend! I definitely recommend the alligator roll or the spicy crab roll.

Best sushi place in the area and the best prices, always. Don’t have much to say other than that they’re delicious and I highly recommend going here.
However — if you have a big order ALWAYS check to make sure everything is there. In a large order I end up having something missing (or wrong) every single time. Even though this has sucked, their food is such high quality it never dissuades me or my friends from coming here.

Best priced and best tasting sushi I’ve had to date. The selection is extensive and unique, and you’re free to create your own. Staff is personable, comical, and knowledgeable about sushi. Leave your mark and write on the wall!

Nice quick stop after visiting the aquarium in the area. We shared a party platter and grabbed some soups for the table. Hosts were really accomodating and nice. Food was good. Value was good. Deceptive place from the outside. Looks like a walk up window stand. Plenty of sit down area in the interior.

I tried the Ju Roll, their most expensive roll priced at $25, and the Spicy Salmon Roll, which cost $7.25. Unfortunately, the Ju Roll left me underwhelmed – it was just okay, not good or great, and certainly not worth the hefty price tag. I can’t say I would recommend it. On the other hand, the Spicy Salmon Roll had a larger diameter compared to rolls from other places, but it was poorly packed and mostly filled with rice, lacking in fish. The sauce inside wasn’t spicy and lacked flavor as well. Overall, I was disappointed with both rolls and wouldn’t likely return.

Such a fantastic little sushi place. I thank Google maps for finding this place for me. Not far off the highway. The fish is so, so fresh. Just excellent sushi and great people running it.

Edit: I have returned to try the nigiri. And I can now confirm that this is the best sushi spot in Groton and New London. Don’t go to Sushi Kawa, don’t go to Kyoto Steakhouse. This is it. Eating the nigiri allows one to truly taste the fish as it is not covered by sauces like spicy mayo or doused in soy sauce. The fish freshness here is better than all the sushi places around here; no competition.
Good sushi. The rice was soft and at a good temperature. The quality of fish in the rolls was not bad. They have both traditional simple rolls and more americanized ones. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants/omakases in NY and Philly. And I can say that this place is not bad at all. It is definitely the best sushi you can get in Groton. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for sushi around the area than here. Will be returning to try the nigiri.
