11/25/2025 – First time visiting J J Fish & Chicken in Atlanta with family and the experience was good. I ordered their Jalapeño Poppers which were the best I have tasted. Also, I ordered their Wings and Chicken Tender Combo that included fries and a can of soda. Very tasty and seasoned nicely. Big open space to dine in if you choose to. You can also place your order to go, or order over the phone as a carryout. Service was professional. Okay dining area. Parking out front and on the side of the building. Reasonable prices. Enjoy.

Okay so this location needs to be taken better care of. The parking lot had trash in it from patrons, there are pot holes in various spots. I walk in and the interior could use some cleaning and a paint job. Security was present. Fish was fresh tasting and the cole slaw was not bad. and the hush puppies were decent. The service was typical but quick, and they let you serve yourself to hot sauce and other condiments.

I had a really good experience at JJ Fish & Chicken. The food came out hot, fresh, and seasoned just right. You can tell they take pride in serving meals that hit the spot. The staff was friendly and worked quickly, even with a steady line of customers. The portions were generous, and everything tasted like it was made to order. It’s the kind of place you go to when you’re craving something flavorful and comforting. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

I don’t know what was going on today (Sunday 5/4) but the chicken wing dinner had extremely tiny wings. I already frequently hear I have small hands, so to be able to fit 3 wings on it is a little insane. I mentioned it to manager so he gave an additional 4 wings. When I got home it was barely any meat on the chicken to truly enjoy the flavor.

I love this place but they won’t cook your food like you ask them too. I always get the 3 piece whole catfish and ask for it to be fries crispy and they never do. I’ve been going here since they opened and they still don’t and when you order the gizzards and ask for them to be fried soft they’re always hard! Other than those two things they’re really great and tasty. Maybe 2x I’ve gotten it and there wasn’t enough seasoning but it’s probably a new cook bc it’s definitely not all the times! They’re definitely better than the one that I use to order from in Chicago

I did a phone order. Yes, it was ready when I arrived, and the chicken was hot. Once I got home, the chicken seem old, as if, it was cooked twice, so it can be hot. The skin was crispy, but inside was very dry and hard….twice cooked. I ask the cashier for the powder sprinkles, to put on side, she said DON’T PUT THE POWDER SPRINKLES ON THE SIDE

Been hearing about JJ’s since I was living in Minnesota, huge Chicago following in the city so I have been wanting to go and I’m excited about it being here in Atlanta and literally a 5 min drive from me! Inside the restaurant is extremely big with plenty of seats, I don’t know how many actually sit and eat there, but it was busy with people either ordering in store or picking up.
The service was great, no complaints there, they looked pretty efficient people coming in making their order and leaving in a timely manner.
The food was good, I got the fish combo with shrimp and whiting, every order comes with fries and a drink which is super convenient and I feel like that’s a lost art these days, drinks are always extra now. Honestly, it’s not the best fish i’ve had, but not bad at all, I would recommend it to someone who never had it before but not the best that I have had.

The fried chicken is good. The catfish nuggets are fried really hard and are mostly breading (no fish) but the flavor was good on the fish. The fries, okra are always fresh and the lemonade is the bomb. The service leaves much to be desired. If you’re not concerned with the customer service, you’ll enjoy the chicken.

1st time going here despite hearing about it for years and years. I called in my order, and the cashier was very patient and knowledgeable. I got a wing dinner, frozen watermelon lemonade, and banana pudding. She told me it’ll be ready in 15 minutes and it was actually ready and freshly cooked. The chicken was hot crispy and not overly seasoned. The frozen lemonade was delicious and refreshing. The location is convenient, clean, and well lit. I’m definitely looking forward to my next visit.
