we absolutely loved this meal! it was delicious northern Indian cuisine, made with true heart and soul. I cannot recommend the vegetarian platter enough! It was so tasty and well-balanced. Sometimes Indian food from restaurants can make me feel overly full from all of the oil and cream, but this was home-cooked, flavorful, NOT oily and simply delicious! Highly recommend

Jewel of India is the Jewel of Waterville. The price and flavor is cannot be beat. You have to have the bread sampler. The nan and the dips provided are the best. The chicken vindaloo is probably my favorite but the Tikka Masala and Makhan Wala are also excellent. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated and the staff is great.

I like their vegetable biryani. It was so good. And their mango lassi and chai tea was good. But I don’t like chicken tikka masala. The chicken itself was pretty good. But the sauce was not my style.

I am half Pakistani, and I don’t give great food reviews often. I ordered the lamb curry which was incredible. It was a perfectly spiced and seasoned sauce with a fresh, tender, and generous serving of meat. I also ordered saag paneer, and the saag was well seasoned with just the right amount of paneer. The food did not disappoint! The person serving us was nice, food was prepared quickly, and the restaurant was clean and well decorated with a good ambience.

Absolutely outstanding. Seconds after walking through the door and the aromas of classical North Indian cooking surrounded me I knew I had found culinary heaven. Great Indian food is not easy to find, especially in New England and rarely found in Maine. This was as good as any I’ve had anywhere and much better than most. We had the vegetable curry which was sublime and the veggie biryani which was outstanding. The host was warm and accommodating. In sum, there aren’t enough superlatives to describe Jewel of India. We shall be back!!!!

The food was amazing I personally might cry. I don’t think I have had Indian food this good in Maine before this point. The owners were really nice and the whole experience was great. We ordered the rani and raja thali i think and the quantity was more than enough for everything.
