5 stars for taste… Oxtails, gravy, peas and rice were delicious! Lots of bones with some meat. I was shocked when I got home and saw the price of these little 12oz. drinks were $20.00

Great food, very flavorful and authentic. As my first time trying Jamaican food this was a great first impression. We ordered the oxtail and the jerk chicken along with a few glass bottled sodas to take home. (If you are planning to eat-in, be prepared for loud music and a warm temp.)

We stopped to grab dinner on our way out of Pt St Lucie. We were delighted with the service. The cashier was polite and knowledgeable. I ordered brown stewed chicken with rice and peas. It came with steamed vegetables and fried plantains. My husband got the jerked chicken with rice and peas and it also came with veggies and plantains. The meals were delicious. Well seasoned, just the right amount of spice and nit greasy. The jerked was delicious and you can taste the authentic jerk seasoning. Best Jamaican meal we’ve had at a restaurant in a while. Would definitely recommend this place.

First time visiting this place and went to try it based on the great reviews. Needless to say, I didn’t get to take a picture because it was so good that I inhaled it within seconds. Lol. The people there were so sweet. The food was spectacular. I’m from Miami, and this place puts the Miami places to shame. The Patties are crispy and hot and fresh, even at almost closing time. They even offer to give you 2 different proteins in your dinners for an upcharge of 2 bucks, allowing you to try two separate proteins in the same dinner. We tried patties, grape soda, jerk pork, curry goat and oxtail and all of it was fire! Every bite was tender juicy and flavorful. Thank you for a great experience. We will definitely be “regulars” here moving forward. 🙂

The jerk chicken was semi-dry, not as spicy as I would have liked for jerk. The beans in the rice were not fully cooked, beans almost raw. They were crunchy, not soft. The cabbage was not cooked through. Cabbage was like it was cut off the head and plated, hard and crunchy. Had to cook the cabbage in a pot at home because the cabbage was too hard, like cabbage salad, not desirable. The only thing that was tasty was the plantain, only get two per plate, and in the other plate was the oxtails. The oxtails were good and the beans and rice was a bit uncooked but not as bad as the jerk chicken plate. Overall, this is a step down from the restaurant I visited a few years ago in 2017. The food is bearable but not desirable. I will probably not go back. Thank you for reading my review.

The owner is RUDE, I don’t see how this place is in business. She looks iterated that people are walking into the little whole in a box restaurant. Get more help and be thankful people are walking in your business!!! I goty kids the lunch special, should of went to McDonald’s for $8.00 per little counter

I have been going to Jerk City for a couple of decades now, and appreciate having authentic Jamaican foods, desserts, and specialty items available to my friends, family and me. I highly recommend Mr. Hamilton’s restaurant for dine-in or take out. %!!

Update: 1/09/18 I went in and was greeted by a very unfriendly woman. I ordered a large curry goat and small oxtail. The goat was undercooked wit no gravy & the oxtail was bitter with no flavor as if was seasoned with just browning and salt. I got a handful of busta’s and two sodas and my order was 29.00!!!!!! The portions of meat were smaller and the rice was hard and undercooked. I was so disappointed because as you can see in previous reviews that I loved it but to be honest I will not go back.

The customer service was on par with other top restaurants. The man who served us was extremely nice and he had a friendly atmosphere about him that made our experience as first timers really comforting. The feel of the restaurant really made us feel apart of the community. Overall we had good food, good homemade drinks, and a good time.
