Usually Desi’s is 5☆ all around but not on this particular day when it came to the chicken being done. My mother is in the hospital and called me around 12:42pm wanting me to get her two thighs. I took them to her and she ate a few bites of one then showed me the rest of it all pink and red. I tore open the other one and the sane dad gum thing… pink and red on the inside. Never happened to me before. I won’t let it deter me from going back because everything else was very good.

All you can eat Buffet in a small town. Its great if you’re passing through. I went on a Tuesday which the menu wasn’t a whole lot. Fried chicken was delicious I had tomatoes and rice * collard greens wasn’t cooked very well nor seasoned. But eatable. The cornbread was fried and it wasn’t done throughly kinda tasted like more dough. They had Lasagna not sure how it tasted because it looked to have a bunch of tomatoe Sauce & cheese. But I would like to go back on a Friday and Saturday with a large variety of food. Its very clean & spacious.

Had to go to the courthouse and decided to give this a try for lunch based off of the reviews. It would have been great had not ALL the food been at room temperature. The fried chicken tasted like it had been fried at 9 that morning. The bread pudding had a great flavor but once again was cold. It’s not too much to ask to be served HOT food

Ive been a fan of this restaurant for some time but finding out that one their workers is openly using slurs towards my friends im not okay with that. And looking thru holly barrow facebook they have some questionable captions on a picture “happy pride but im happy im straight” while standing in a church. Thats not very “christian” calling someone and their kid a racial slur deft isnt very godly. Sad to see in the big 2026.

Minimal food selections for the price you pay. Overall the food was good. My favorite was the catfish and the apple crisp. The atmosphere was inviting in social enjoyed the music and the waitresses people that work there were great at customer service.

This was my first time at Desi’s. My folks are regulars and talked it up. The restaurant has a large dining room with a 50s look soda counter. Buffet style with lots of choices and a salad bar. I enjoyed meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, Lima beans and black eyed peas. The food was excellent especially the meatloaf! Service is hit or miss at buffets but this was exceptional today. I ordered coffee and Desi brought two cups when needed. The dessert bar had many good choices including bread pudding, peach cobbler and more. I will try one next time after being full from lunch.

I’ve driven down Main Street for years and didn’t know Desi’s was there till today when a group of people came out at once while I drove by. Desi’s closes after lunch and open for dinner on Fridays only. I didn’t want to cook dinner after an hour drive home, so I at dinner at Desi’s. The crowd I could tell were all locals, friendly calling out each other by name. Line up and get your plates served with the country style meats and vegetables. Fish Friday, there was breaded fried mullet and catfish. Not a fried fish eater, so I enjoyed double servings of the ribs, and shrimp pasta (not those mini shrimp, but the good size ones you can sink your teeth into. Selection of vegetables can satisfy the pickiest eater. The desert bar was too tempting, so I did enjoy the apple crisps. Enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and saw the American flag proudly displayed. Next to it is the Israeli flag. Thank you, that meant much to me.
Not too far North of 1-10 for those traveling and want a break from the chain restaurants. This is Southern cooking.

I’m giving this place 5 stars because it’s a good place for good food for a fair price. Don’t come here and expect a blow your mind experience. Nothing here “wow’d” me. But the people are friendly. The food was fresh and the dessert bar was on point! Go check it out.

Classic southern food. Easily the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Deserts are also absolutely astounding.

Don’t let the line scare you when you get there; it moves quick and everyone is extremely polite.
