Our first scoop shop outside central Ohio, opened in April, 2011, on Main Street in lively Chagrin Falls, a village of 4,000 or so residents just east of Cleveland. The shop, on the edge of the rushing waters of the Chagrin River, is part of a lively, pedestrian-friendly area that reflects the communities Jeni’s is part of in Columbus. Jeni and Columbus-based Gieseke Rosenthal Architecture & Design designed the Chagrin Falls shop, which boasts a gorgeous “rustic chic” layout (barn wood; marble; stainless steel; a chalkboard wall with handwritten menus).

I had a great experience here! The ice cream was fine, it’s ice cream, but the service was amazing! I was served by a girl named Lauren. She was amazing!! She was super helpful explaining the flavors (did you know they use spirulina for the color in the mint chocolate flavor) and was a great scooper! The scoops were perfectly sized! I would definitely recommend you take a trip to Jeni’s if you’re ever in Chagrin!

Workers there today were super friendly! Sampled a bunch and ended up getting a bunch to go. I got the pop tart brown cinnamon sugar (no pints in store but she put 3 scoops in a bowl with a lid) wedding cake, the peach one and lavender. Love this spot and I’ll always be a fan! When I pop in, there’s always something new to try!

Yesterday, I visited Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in Chagrin Falls. The shop is very cute, and the ice cream is unique and incredibly flavorful. I ordered two scoops of the Goat Cheese with Red Cherries and the Rainbow Frozen Yogurt. Both flavors were amazing, and I’ll be sure to return to try more!

It’s a quaint little shop in a quaint town. The flavors are much better than grocery store ice cream, but their competition is actually Mitchell’s and Graeters. Servers were helpful and cheerful.

We visited this establishment on July 23. We ordered ice cream and presented the cashier with a Jeni’s gift card. The cashier refused to accept the gift card, stating it was expired. When we examined the gift card and pointed out that there was no expiration date, the cashier still would not accept it.. And now we have a Jeni’s purchase that will not be honored. Bad business.
