Country Boy Kitchen! We were the first table in the place. It was 8 of us. We arrived at 12pm on the dot to grab our table. It was 5 mins before she got our drink orders. Tea and lemonade were not made yet so had to wait about 10 mins for that. ***The waitress was new** Do I’m not blaming her. She forgot who had what, wrong sodas, forgot lemons and it was a hot confusing mess. After about 15mins she came to take our food order to which we openly expressed how we were ready to leave for it being so slow but we stayed. We specifically stated our orders to the waitress in a clear way using menu terms. She proceeded to tell us how she forgot to get our complimentary cornbread and said she’ll be right back but needless to say…………we never saw that cornbread. Our food was brought out at 1:15pm. For five of us. Fish was unseasoned, we finally got our cornbread—it was dry. Nun of us ate our sides. Mac n cheese is made with a roux and it was dry.

Such a wait! I only have a finite amount of patience for some fried chicken and Mac and cheese. I was so hoping for something reliable in Bishopville but this seems to be a theme in our independent restaurants. +1 hr wait kills all the momentum for the food. And it was fresh and delicious but no food could reprimand the ludacris wait time. Kinda small wings, but Mac and cheese was on point. Buffet prices for single portioned food that took an hr plus. Maybe their catering is different but a hard pass for next time.

The smothered pork chops are delicious, my wife and daughter both had the Harriet, one grilled and one fried. We are all so satisfied.

Jeffrey Lampkin has done it again! Be sure to check out CBK-Bishopville. The standard of excellence continues in this beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is attentive, and the food is simply amazing. If you did not know any better, you would declare that someone’s grandma is in the kitchen.

When they first opened I ate here twice within the first week and the food was the bomb. My first visit the cornbread was the best I ever had and slid down my throat. The smothered chicken and gravy was delicious. Then the hamburger steak on second visit was awesome. Both times my sides were ok, but the best side was the cornbread. Now I ate from here this week and you can tell the owner has left and there’s another cook, because none of the food tasted the same and the lemonade/tea mix drink was the best thing I ordered. I got hamburger steak with rice n gravy, Mac n cheese and cornbread plus extra basket of cornbread. The hamburger steak was over cooked and dried out. The first bite of Mac n cheese i spit out it was super dry and tasted vinegary. The cornbread was not as moist and buttery ( threw the extra basket away). The whole meal cost $23 cause I left a 15% tip thinking I would get the same deliciousness as when the owner was there during opening week and I am highly disappointed. I love supporting small black businesses but I did not get a meal worth my money this time. The food got trashed.

I truly enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant. It pays great homage to southern cuisine. It gives great feelings of nostalgia from Sunday dinners to summer revivals! 10 out of 10. I would definitely recommend!!!

Stopped in today for the first time. The cornbread was absolutely delicious. We had the famous fried chicken and pork chops both were outstanding. Highly recommend the green beans and the mac and cheese.

Great little hidden gem in downtown Bishopville. We were on our way home from Myrtle Beach and didn’t want fast food. A quick stop at the gas station right off the highway led us to Jeffrey Lampkin’s for some great soul food! We will definitely stop there again!
