Tried Jay’s Burger in Richmond Hill and it was great. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and it was not overdone with toppings… also ordered the curly fries and they were well seasoned.
Regarding interior, the place was very clean and had a relaxed, local feel. Nice to have a straightforward burger spot around here that just focuses on doing the basics right!!

The best burgers in town hands down! Nothing else compare! The smashed patties are so light and juicy. The Jays fries are a staple whether you get curly or regular. The service is top notch and it never disappoints. Highly recommend trying them if you haven’t already! It will quickly become your go-to spot.

Tried Jay’s Burgers in Richmond Hill for the first time and ordered the Smashburger combo. Honestly, it was pretty mediocre. Nothing wrong with it the burger and fries were fine but there wasn’t anything special that would make me come back. I’ve had better burgers elsewhere for the same price. Service and packaging were good though, so overall it’s a decent spot, just not memorable for me.

As such, we decided to give it a try even though our go-to Richmond Hill smash burger place has been the impressive and ever-consistent ‘ Grillies ‘ on Bayview and Elgin Mills.
Overall, the products offered at Jay’s are acceptable and fairly enjoyable with the curly-fries a yummy stand out. The Angus beef patties and accompanying condiments, such as the sauteed caramelized onions are nicely executed. Though the edges of the burgers can be a bit more seared, charred and crispy.
Sadly, the overall eating experience was spoiled by the choice of using ‘ Potato Bread ‘ as the Burger bun. IMHO, a wrong and incompatible choice especially when used in burger options involving excessive moist and wet fillings……eg., Oklahoma Burger with sauteed onions. The end result was a messy and soggy product that put a damper on the overall enjoyment!
Pricing was a bit on the high side with undersized, $5.00 bottled sodas steep and exorbitant!

The fries are also a highlight – huge portions, skin-on, and perfectly fried. If you want a satisfying, high-quality burger meal, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Had Jay’s signature burger and it absolutely delicious. The beef was nicely charred and paired perfectly with the well-toasted buns, caramelised onions and their signature sauce.
Had to try the poutine since it was my first time in Canada, but it wasn’t really for me. That said, it didn’t matter because the burger was the real star.
Also, don’t skip their signature banana pudding — sweet, creamy, custardy, and absolutely delicious.

Excited to try this place just walking distance from home and it did not disappoint and in fact rivals popular burger shops like Rudy’s and Burger Drops. Had the Oklahoma smash burger (single) and my partner had the same but double. They were cooked to regular and the caramelized onions and mustard sauce made it a satisfying and savoury experience. Delish! Opted for the standard fries which were fresh and crispy but will opt for the curly fries next time because the guy next to us had them and they looked yummy! Def worth checking out and will be back.

The place is clean, and the staff are friendly, polite, and have great customer service.You can really taste the difference.
