Its menu also looks really good and has a wide variety.
All the plates looked really big so we wanted to try something savory and sweet and share. We tried the club sandwich and the French toast. Highly recommend. Prices are good too!
My friend went with their breakfast plate while I got their club sandwich with fries. My wife wanted the Primavera omelette so I ordered that to go for her. My friend got coffee for his drink and I asked for a coke.
Our food didn’t take long to come out but the waitress forgot my drink so I had to remind her. The breakfast gives you a good portion and the club sandwich was good. The service wasn’t too bad either. This place does charge a fee if you pay with a card so just be aware.
They have a fairly large menu that is filled with all sorts of classics but again I feel that their specialty is Mexican. I usually order the Eggs Benedict, but decided to mix it up for this breakfast and chose the Pancho Villa Scramble and added avocado and upgraded to Texas toast. In comparison to the scramble I had the day before it was not nearly as good. The onions and peppers were not cooked, and the potatoes were also quite large in square shape and also hardly cooked so it kind of clashed with the eggs. It wasn’t terrible, but I honestly did not enjoy it and would definitely not recommend or order again.
Overall, I think there are much better locations in the valley and I don’t plan to be back in the future, although our service was great.
James’ Restaurant is a step back in time, but not as a kitschy homage to diners — rather as a diner still doing things right, nearly 70 years later. The menu is large, and varied. The food is cooked and presented with obvious care, and the service is cheerful.
You get to pay at the counter, with a real, fully functional cash register if you use cash (do it!).
Parking is free, with more around the back.
