After finding out taco craft was closed we gound this place a little further down the road.
We found that they had live music which was nice to have but kind of small space and didnt feel like it was necessary.
We thought we could make a happy hour but this place only has a 2for1 Margarita deal and no taco Tuesday deal. The margaritas were not good. They batch make them but they tasted like pure mix and stale.
The fajitas were good but small portion and my friend enjoyed the enchilada but not the rice.

If you’re looking for an escape from the flashy, overpriced spots on Las Olas, Jalisco Restaurante on Federal Highway is the move. It’s that rare breed of “hole-in-the-wall” that manages to feel both cozy and legitimately authentic.
Why It’s Worth the Visit
• The Food: This isn’t “Tex-Mex”—it’s real-deal Mexican comfort food. The al pastor tacos are a masterclass in balance, and if you’re feeling hungry, their molcajetes are legendary (and definitely shareable).
• The Vibe: It’s unpretentious and family-oriented. You’ll see locals, families, and solo diners all coexisting over baskets of warm chips and some of the best salsa in Broward County.
• The Value: In a city where dinner can easily break the bank, Jalisco remains refreshingly affordable without cutting corners on quality.
Pro Tips
• The Margaritas: They don’t skimp on the tequila. Be warned.
• Weekends: It can get packed during peak hours, but the service is usually quick and friendly enough that the wait doesn’t feel like a chore.

Was looking for some Mexican food… Yes 30 years in business, really nice staff.. Met Dan. He’s awesome! The spicy marg was great (didn’t put too much sour mix). I’m a Latin food lover so thank you for the experience!

Great food and atmosphere but just ok service. Server barely checked on me at all and was like five feet away from me the whole night. So that could improve. The music was live but not to loud that you couldn’t enjoy yourself. The food came out hot and quickly. The complimentary chips and salsa was good as well. I would have to think about going back due to the service but overall a decent spot

Small and charming restaurant with good food and a friendly staff. I like the vibe. My friends and I were acting goofy and the staff dealt with us with grace, and we made sure to leave a good tip. The food here is solid, delicious, and reliable. I definitely recommend.

The best and only thing you should come here for is the chicken soup. The rest is just really mediocre. The Mexican stir fry tastes like meh Chinese. The garden salad is just shredded taco salad on a plate not even the good parts of the lettuce. The fried plantains were mushy. Honestly just come for the chicken soup. It’s delicious.

Excellent food. Great flavours with great prices. Very speedy and decent portions. They’ve been in business for 30 years for a reason. Will be going back next time in Fort Lauderdale. Everything from the homemade chips and salsa, to the main course, to the best horchatta I’ve ever had and a huge ice cream for dessert, was incredible. Highly recommend. This isn’t the expensive tourist trap you’re going to find on Las Olas, this is real good food.
