My wife and I had not been here in several years so we were pleasantly surprised to see that they have remodeled it. Very clean, the tables are good size and the seating is much more comfortable than it used to be. The food has always been excellent here. I had Carnitas burrito this time, the meat was delicious and tender. My wife had bean and rice burrito which she enjoyed. Everybody else who we were with also enjoyed their meals. The service was very good, our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Prices are average for what you will pay for Mexican food in the area, however the quality is well above average, definitely worth it. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit to San Diego

The food was great but our server can’t say too much for her. I had to get up to get our own knives and forks before she finally figured out that we were already seated. The server was more interested in taking care of her doordash and kept overlooking us very poor did I give a tip it was $1 meaning worthless. But the food was great

Charming and cozy locally owned cafe serving up dishes inspired by Jalisco, Mexico. The food was fresh and flavorful. But the best thing on the menu is the molè enchiladas, especially because good mole is hard to come by in San Diego. My new favorite spot for Mexican food in Imperial Beach!

Food was okay, however, my two star review is because the service was terrible, not one server/employee greeted us, or made us feel welcome, we had the menu for about 20 minutes until we had to call a server to come take our order, if we didn’t say anything they would’ve probably taken longer. When she finally came to take our order, there was no, “hi welcome, what can i get you started with” she just came over and looked at us waiting for us to speak, and didn’t even say thank you or sorry for the wait. Secondly, when the waitress was serving water, for some reason she offered to all tables except ours, which made us feel yet again unwelcome. Overall, no matter how good the food is, if the service is not good, that ruins your experience, would not come back.

A great environment and wonderful service. Started off with coffee, I can say the coffee used to be a lot better. Chilaquiles were good, I think because of the tomatillo sauce. Chicken and egg really added to the dish. While the torta was kinda bland. It was hard to taste the meat. I will say this place is better than other Mexican restaurants.

If you want to fall in love all over again, then just eat here. This place has been around forever, and even with new owners, the food is fantastic. The Chili Colorado burrito is as big as your head- you won’t feel right if you eat it all. The machaca is some of the best in town. The tamales are like how abuela made them, almost a fluffy cake texture:divine. I wouldn’t brag about the desserts, but the food portions sre so big you aren’t going to want any! This is one of my top 10 restaurants in San Diego!
