This is the second time we have eaten at this restaurant in the past month. The restaurant has a new owner so the menu has changed a lot compared to before. We like the taste of the food now more than the old one. The restaurant has been redecorated to be much cleaner, more spacious, brighter and more beautiful. The staff are also very cheerful and quick. We will definitely come back again.

Like others have said, they definitely tack on gratuity on top of tax. I have been here a few times for dim sum (not on my own accord) and there was no service for those hectic lunch times.

I recently had a Chinese New Year’s dinner here with a heftier price tag than the food was worth. It was heavy on the seafood and meat dishes: Peking duck wraps, lobster noodles, etc., all tasty – no fillers, but nothing memorable.

On top of this, the waitress told us that all the dishes were served. We told the waitress that we didn’t get the scallop fried rice yet. And she asked us if we were sure. Twice. I would think she would notice herself if she had served us a rice dish for 8 and we were able to finish it and have her take it away. We sat in a private room but it was very empty outside. There was also karaoke and a mahjong table inside.

One of the workers told us that we could even rent out the restaurant for karaoke as they have a 3-wall screen outside. The place is very big. It was the old Joy Luck Place, I believe.

Jade Tea Garden

Jade Tea Garden offers a delightful dining experience with some standout features and a few areas for improvement.

What Shines:
(+) Tea Excellence: The tea served here is superb—no tea bags, just pure, high-quality brews.
(+) Outstanding Service: The staff is warm, attentive, and friendly, making you feel valued.
(+) Din Sum Exquisiteness: The dim sums are delicious, fresh, and flavorful, showcasing authentic craftsmanship.
(+) Contemporary Ambiance: The modern decor, paired with large LED monitors, creates a unique atmosphere.

Room for Growth:
(-) Peking Duck: While enjoyable, it falls short of the signature, unforgettable taste that distinguishes great Peking Duck.
(-) Uncomfortable Seating: The square tables with intrusive bars beneath are awkward and detract from comfort.
(-) Distracting LED Displays: The monitors, unfortunately, display constant advertisements, which feel out of place and diminish the otherwise elegant setting.

Overall:
Jade Tea Garden is an inviting spot with great food and service, particularly for dim sum lovers. While the pricing is on the higher side, improved affordability could attract a wider crowd and elevate its success.

Read other folks’ reviews on mandatory tips, thus we ordered takeout by calling directly, the overall dim sum quality is good.

三色龙 (a combination of chicken feet, pork ribs and beef tripe) is good, where you get a chance to taste three dishes. 叉烧包 BBQ bun, 煎韭菜虾饺 shrimp dumpling with chives, and 椒盐鸡翅 chicken wings are very good.

I’ve visited this restaurant a couple times. One of my favorites is the Pan-fried Chives & Shrimp Dumpling, the shrimp is fresh and it’s full of chive flavor. I also liked the Steamed Radish Cake, but during this visit I found they may have changed the recipe by using more rice flour than radish which makes it much less flavorful, this is a bummer and I’ll pass this dish moving forward. The Tangerine Flavored Beef Ball is tender and delicious.

I went here for the first time around February. I came with my partner and his family and we arrived before opening on a weekend. Service was slow at first but the food was lovely. Honestly some of the best dim sum that I have had in a long time. Anything with shrimp was so sweet and delicious. It was amazing. The chicken feet, ha gao, siu mai, lo mai gai, and the basics were just delicious. It was piping hot and seasoned well. It was also not too greasy and when I left the restaurant, I didn’t feel awful even though I was so full I had to unbutton my pants. I know a lot of people complained about the 18% tip? I am not sure if it’s still there as I didn’t see the bill, but I do think it is worth dining here at least once. I am willing to go again!

We went here for dinner and the dishes were delicious! We highly recommend the Sautéed Beef & Scallops w/Black Pepper – the beef was so tender and the sauce tasted great! Service was also friendly and attentive. We hope to come back and try their dim sum for brunch next time!

My 89 year old mom, my brother and I met up with my aunt and uncle for a reunion dinner at the Jade Tea Garden Restaurant in the Cupertino Village, I hadn’t seen my aunt in twenty years. There is a two level parking lot in the back, and parking by the nearby 99 Ranch Market. Our waiter, Dominick, was very friendly, warm, and he kindly gave my uncle really good recommendations for our meal. A few wait staff delivered the various dishes. We ordered the wagyu beef with broccoli, a steamed flatfish, lobster with long life noodles, sautéed garlic pea sprouts, my favorite hot and sour soup, two teas (jasmine and pu er), plus we had the cutest dessert, rabbit-shaped almond jellos and a long, corn-shaped mango pudding. We were very happy with both the meal and service, the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and very pretty decor. It’s a good place for bringing your friends, family, or going on a date. The waiter said that it has been opened for three weeks, so do try their food. We came for dim sum earlier in the week, it was also very good. I’ll add those lunch photos as well. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

We came during their soft opening for dinner. The service ad fantastic as the servers helped a lot of our requests. Their plates and chopsticks all follow their brand and are pretty nice.

Seating is big and they have a lot of food options.

Their duck was solid but they didnt take off the bones so it was a little hard to eat with the baos.

Their veggies had a lot of flavor and had good wok hei flavor to it

They do a lot of cantonese style stuff so just a heads up thats how it’ll be with the dishes

1. Food is subpar. It is the least authentic dim sum place I have been in the Bay Area. Some food is creative but need to be communicated to customers in advance, like putting cilantro in the dishes by surprise.
2. Service was not good. Food for two was all served after waiting for more than 40 min, even we were the first few to come in the morning. Food was served semi-cold and like it’s been touched by some already.
3. Price was not that expensive, but not cheap either considering the quality of food and service. They charged a mandatory 18% tip. While I took some tip off to express my dissatisfaction, they disregarded it and charged the amount they wanted. It is a very dishonorable behavior to me.
