I visited the establishment based off of a recommendation from a family member. When I went inside the restaurant, I was not impressed. I ordered the 20 piece wing meal. The staff appeared bored and unproductive. The order took 15-20 minutes to prepare. When I ate some of the wings, it was not good. The wings look old (bone appeared dark) and the flavor was not tasty. The fries was hard. The look of place was unappealing. Need remodeling and a deep cleaning. Do not recommend at all.

Working out of state and I always eat at places we don’t have where I live. As a wing lover this was a great choice! Nice size wings cooked perfectly. They were definitely full of flavor all the way to the bone as well. I substituted my fries on the combo with fried okra and it too was cooked perfect and a very large portion as well. I feel like I definitely got enough food for the money. Thank you!

Decided to go here after reading the reviews while visiting Alabama. Didn’t want to go too far from hotel. Should’ve known there was an issue when we pulled up and this place was a part of a service station. But figured, like home, sometimes the best food comes from places like this. Clearly not the case.

Tried the chicken wings with cajun ranch and sweet & sour flavor. They were average at best, the cajun ranch was more on the salty side. Also, the wings smelled funny. Something didn’t felt right.

Terrible experience. Used online to order which was through Doordash apparently. Order placed at 753, and told to pick up between 815-820. Arrived at 810 where sign on door said to use drive through only. Female employee came outside to give another customer something. I asked if I needed to come in or go through drive thru to pick up my order. She said “we’re closed.” I informed her that I wasn’t placing an order, just picking one up. She again said, “we’re closed” and then “we ain’t go no more chicken”. To which I again said I placed the order 20 min ago when yall were still open. Nothing was done, manager said I’d have to get with Doordash. Whole operation is sloppy and and not well ran.

I love me some Jay’s wings.. I Met Jay when he was first opening his Fultondale location. He let me try his swag sauce before it had come out. I gave him my opinion on it which it was jumping. I like a dry rub, ranch. It is very good. Jay treated me with respect. So everything went well. There is only been one time that I ate there that I did not think that it was that great was when They were real busy and they took and pulled the chicken too fast leaving it not cooked fully, which made me sick.

Don’t go if you’re new to Birmingham or this area! Please.l just find another wing spot because there are others close by. The employees are nice but when I asked about my order, the manager rudely denied me service. The food does not look like what’s displayed at all.

I purchased a light sea food plate that consisted of a 4pc order of fried tilapia, which came with a subpar but appreciated 3 pieces of white bread. J Wings’ Chef cooked their fish to a perfection this evening. My order wasn’t drenched and smothered with grease, the natural taste and freshness wasn’t over saturated with msg, their fish was fried light golden this evening, and my meal was light to the touch with every bite. J Wings’ Chef took me back to a place that I’ve never been this evening. Back to a place where I physically saw the Chef catch that fish, smack that fish upside its fish head, and tell that fish that it would be the best tasting Tilapia that Birmingham has ever tasted. That fish said,“With pleasure.”. Right before it came into my life and comforted my taste buds with the hugs and affirmations of 1,000,000 fish from Sea Food Heaven. I am forever grateful for J Wings and the man or woman who prepared my meal this evening, and hope to purchase many more dishes from J Wings that make me feel the same way that they’re business has made me feel today.
