Ordered food from here for delivery. The food was ice cold when it got to us but the worst of it was finding a half eaten fried shrimp inside my potatoes. My pregnant wife is highly allergic to shrimp and this was absolutely disgusting. The quality of the food was extremely disappointing. I highly suggest everyone to stay away from this establishment.

We’ve been dining at J & R steak house (all the locations) for past 2 decades.
We like to come to Medford since it’s close to the highway.
Past few weeks we went to dine 3 times and all those times everything was excellent!
Porterhouse (marinated) and ribeye steaks are always excellent! Ribs were juicy and it was a huge portion. Sweet potato fries were perfect.
French onion soup was so tasty. Not too salty and has right amount of sherry and overflowing cheese.. one of the best!
My husband and kids always order chili and they use steak for chili and it’s very substantial. Cheese cake is the best dessert you can get.
They have a set menu and I always order appetizer, soup or salad and dessert. What an amazing deal. They have so many lunch special deals.
In the last 4-8 months, we came to dine and quality was slipping but now everything is perfect. I can highly recommend J& R steak house to dine for lunch or dinner. Great food, pricing and value and you will not be disappointed.

Oh my God I went there for the first time just the other week and I felt like I was transported back to the awesome 80s. The atmosphere was like a fun bar with high tops TVs everyone talking to each other. I had a Surf and her for 35 box which included a lobster tail and a beautiful filet mignon black Angus. I can’t wait to go here again even though I have to drive 40 minutes from my house it’s totally worth it.

Dined here this evening with my mother and wife. The restaurant was cold, not just chilly the tables themselves were cold to the touch but because we were extremely hungry we decided to just wear our jackets and endure the chill. First we started with the sampler, which was just some standard commercial frozen apps heated up but the real kicker was they offered blue cheese and what they delivered was roquefort so the deception was just annoying. We ordered the ribeye black and blue and 2 burgers medium well. The steak served to my wife was nothing more than a marinated london broil at best but I fear it was probably printed meat. The burgers were undercooked and and underwhelming. The waiter was told my burger was not cooked properly and wasn’t going to be eaten, since the others were halfway through their food when we were first checked on i declined a new burger, but they charged for it anyway.
Probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in a very long time.
If your looking for a cold atmosphere with horrible food, you have found your spot.

Had a great lunch today at J & R in Medford. Service was very good and we enjoyed our lunches. Cheese cake and rice pudding for dessert. Thank you John for being a great server.

Such a great place to eat! We had the steak and lobster special, the steamed mussels, the wings, and the sirloin. The waitress was great. We’ll be back when we come visit New York. Delicious!
