Pork and pancakes? Yes!!! The sweet and savory mix is so good. This place has the no nonsense breakfast and the more interesting options. I’ll definitely be back again.

Sunday Brunch. Unfortunately the kitchen “threw out” the hollandaise sauce even tho brunch wasn’t yet over, forcing my gf to select a non-benedict dish after she had already ordered. Fortunately our waiter + mgmt handled the whole thing fairly well, comped our entire meal and were very apologetic and understanding. I would go back (well before 2pm on a wknd ) and try again!

10 years ago, my family loved going to Nichols Cafe, which served comfort foods in a warm, Marie-Calendar-sort-of-setting. Fast forward to today & the re-vamped J Nichols Kitchen serves foodie favs in a Hillstone/Houston’s-sort-of-setting. My son & I love going to the reasonably-priced and flavorful daily happy hour specials. This was the first time I tried breakfast though. The English muffins are made-in-house and the eggs Benedict that was served over them was perfectly done. At the counter, where I was sitting, I wasn’t the only one enjoying the English muffins. The fellow next to me had them with strawberry jam (also house made)

The wait was 15 min which was not to bad. Service was not as good had to ask different people for items as waitress was bust with other tables. I asked the waitress what was on the burger and she did not mention that it came with mustard so did not enjoy it that much. Fries were ok but not super hot. Wife enjoyed her omelette.

Clean, modern atmosphere with delicious food. We had breakfast and all of the plates were delicious. Wait staff is friendly, gave my granddaughter extra whipped cream on her hot chocolate, so she was thrilled. Ask for the real maple syrup when you order,

A waitress was attentive. It was the best avocado toast I have ever had. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich and he thought it was amazing. I definitely want to go back when we’re here again.

Stop by for a quick lunch was seated quickly and shortly after our server Star ⭐ arrived to take our order. We went for a turkey burger and the J Nichols original buger . The burgers were cooked to perfection and served up with delicious fries. No complaints here with the meal, atmosphere, or the service.

Our last day in Santa Monica and we couldn’t find any restaurant that were open or had breakfast items we wanted. We dined at the other good breakfast spots the prior days and wanted to try something different. I found J Nichols on maps outside of the area we were staying and decided to venture out. I called ahead and was told to join the wait list on the website. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated after 15 minutes so was a bit disappointed with the o line wait list. As for our breakfast experience, the service was great. The ambiance was also inviting and lively. Very busy breakfast spot. Our meals were also tasty, especially the chicken chilaquiles. The pancakes were delicious and the egg whites, onions and mushrooms were a bit on the bland side but could have been lacking a bit of salt. Meals were hearty portions and we couldn’t finish all the Turkey bacon since one portion was three slices, we had two portions. Hash was also hearty, tasty and filling. Our overall experience was satisfactory and pleasing and it was worth the 15 minute drive from Ocean drive. I may return on future visits to Santa Monica.

Everything I’ve ordered here is fantastic. It’s really good quality, in a nice setting and the staff is very friendly. Their avocado toast is the best I’ve ever had- it has lots of flavor and texture and presented differently than other places. I also recommend the Sorrento Beach Bowl- a great flavorful, savory breakfast. It’s a go-to place where everything is consistently good.
