Baked steak was tender and tasty . This is a family owned , home cooking whole in the wall place to eat. Establishment is clean. Visited a year later, I had the Pork chop special, with mustard greens and Mashed potatoes. At no Fault to the new owner you can not serve and advertise home cooking and put instant mashed potatoes on a plate. That was disappointment! The cat fish is frozen and thrown in a deep fryer again not home cooking! If you plan on keeping the tradition , then get the traditions of home cooking back. This restaurant is not living up to the reputation of your Grandparents and of the past. I wish you the best of luck!

This come with sadness to give this restaurant this rating. We have been looking for a diner type place to eat since we moved to Olive Hill. We found this restaurant and couldn’t wait to try it out. What a disappointment. We went on a Friday afternoon around 3pm for dinner. There was about 5 tables with patrons inside and 4 servers working. We sat down and ordered our drinks. I ordered sweet tea… it was so sweet it was barely drinkable. Tasted like sugar water and I grew up on southern style sweet tea. This was just nasty. Our appetizer came out and was nothing to btag about. Dry fries with cheese melted on top and bacon crumpled over the cheese. The ranch dressing was so watery it had no taste at all. It was just cold and wet that helped the dry fries go down a little easier. Then came out dinner. Hubby had the fish special; A filet, onion rings, side salad and corn bread. He said his food was ‘okay’, but rated it only a 2 out of 10.

The club sandwich was a mess in every way. I would not order it again. The coleslaw was delicious! The sweet tea was average. The chocolate cream pie was good, and I would order it again. The price plus tip was around $20 for one person, which I thought was ridiculously high for this meal. I’m unlikely to return.

Ate lunch at J&J today for the first time. Grilled bone-in pork chop was tender, mustard greens were well seasoned and the pinto beans delicious. Salad was fresh and homemade ranch dressing was yummy!! Friendly and helpful service! Will be going back!!

Server was super nice but never saw him once after food was delivered. Ordered a burger add mustard got a burger with all the toppings removed and just mustard. It still tasted good and was hot. Ordered fried mushrooms never got them, but didn’t get to tell waiter since he never came back. Anyways they were very busy so I’ll cut the waiter a break he was very friendly. The food was good enough to give it another shot. I took my mom she loved it except for the tarter sauce was just real mayonnaise nothing else added to it. Prices were fair and the staff did good keeping it clean.

A Place for the Older folk who like Simple, Tasty, Home-made food! No Frills, nothing extra, just Flavorful and wholesome! Absolutely The Best Roast Beef, and the Hominy was the best we’ve ever tasted!! Overall Super Tasty, and not very expensive at all!!

This place has gone down hard . Its quite sad bc it used to be phenomenal, our waiter was really great to us. Unfortunately we wont be going back there , once we arrived home we both got very sick from the food. ♀️ ♀️
