Top notch spot! I had an amazing dinner here. The crab cake was perfect…soft, buttery, ton of crab meat. The Caesar salad was great and the filet was perfectly cooked. Overall, everything I ate was very well executed. The bartender did a superb job w.the drinks and suggestions. In looking around, I noticed that the restaurant was very well staffed. Everyone looked like they knew what they were doing and they were helping each other. As I usually expect restaurants to be understaffed, these days, this was a nice surprise. Whoever owns/runs the place should be very proud. Definitely a recommended spot for a fancy meal/drink.

First, know that my bf and I traveled almost 2 hours to try this spot. We reserved to celebrate his birthday here in advance; reservations was a fast and pretty simple task, good system they have along with follow up emails/txts for reminder and upon arrival time. Second, immediately walking in we were greeted, did not get odd stares for being a young couple, atmosphere yes is smaller and dim but they made it a point to mention its Chicago style themed so explains the environment. Lastly, we started with cocktails, then followed with appetizers, entree, then dessert. Every single item ordered was way beyond our expectations in flavor, presentation, even portions. Definitely, we are coming back. It has beat even some of our favorite go to spots in San Antonio, so there is that, too. Fine dining, service was genuine and great, no complaints, and food – chefs kiss ❤️

Solid example of a classic steakhouse. Sexy, dark space with a large central bar and dramatic lighting. The dishes here mostly deliver from top to bottom, although I think the traditional steak and side options are better executed than some of the non-core main dishes. Baked Potato Gnocchi was a standout of the sides. Service is extremely friendly, but at times a bit too intrusive. The wine list is well-curated, with new- and old-world offerings, however many are priced beyond what I consider a reasonable markup. Nevertheless, this is likely the best option for a straight-up steakhouse in Austin.

The ambiance was magnificent for this special occasion, as we celebrated a belated birthday & Valentine day. The food was superb, especially the tuna steak.

My wife and I went there for my birthday yesterday. We had a reservation at the bar and there was a really nice sign with our name and a card signed by the entire staff, that was a great touch.

Absolutely amazing. Book a reservation, ask for Brittany or Gina, sit back and enjoy. The oysters were crisp and fresh, filet Oscar and dry aged Ny strip were both done to perfection. Potato Gnocchi and Sweet Corn phenomenal and heavy pours on all of their top shelf spirits. Will definitely return!

I can honestly say that J Carver’s is a restaurant where I enjoyed every single item I ordered. I made a reservation for a Thursday evening, and they were so accommodating when it came to adding one guest (my niece). She’s a toddler and needed a high chair, which they don’t have (high top tables), so we brought our own high chair seat, and it worked out perfectly. The host was great enough to remember who he spoke with in our group and personally spoke to them about the accommodation.

The atmosphere and service are unbeatable. Such an awesome venue for a date night. The lobster bisque was excellent, the crab and lobster was delicious, my NY strip was chewy with lots of grizzle. When you spend $400 on dinner I expect a better cut of meat. I’d go back but I’d only order the seafood.

My wife and I had our 47 anniversary at Jcarver. First time and we got a great Waiter- Brittany. She was very personable and cute. Will definitely ask for her next time as well. We shared a steak and rice with crab. Both excellent. Salads were good as well. Everyone very attentive. To be packed on a Monday says it all.
