My wife and I traveled over an hour from Greensboro just to get something better and we were not disappointed. The sushi was excellent. Its hard to believe that this was the same species of fish. It was fresher and more flavorful than most of your typical sushi joints. The real wasabi, (not the green horseradish paste) put the flavor over the top. The brussel sprouts are rarely done right and these were fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about the chef/owner. His skill and hospitality are what separates Iza from just about every other sushi place. Anytime I have a special occasion, I will be back.

I have some dietary restrictions right now, and I called ahead to make sure I’d be okay to eat here— the host, Ted, made me feel heard and like I wasn’t being an inconvenience. It meant a lot to me! My sashimi was delicious, and it wasn’t a problem that I brought my own soy sauce substitute.
The customer service I received was excellent, and the restaurant is definitely

Their bar appears well-stocked (I’ve bartended before— I wonder if they have alternative storage for some of the liquor bottles though, it looks like they’d be a pain to work around), and the sushi is well-formed. I’m a sashimi girlie at the moment, so I can’t speak to the rice texture, but I’d expect excellence here.

I’m excited to dine here again, thanks Ted!

We had a great time at Iza, the yellowtail jalapeno and first class bourbon sampler were great. The salmon sashimi was very fresh and we loved the tuna crudo. They also have real wasabi.

Wait staff was incredibly attentive. The Carolina roll was AMAZING (cooked, I’m not a raw sushi person). I’m looking forward to going back just for that! I got the chili garlic noodles and my husband got the ramen – both very good! Kid loved that miso soup and California roll.

Tried Iza Whiskey and Eats and ordered the tonkotsu ramen and mochi ice cream. The ramen was good overall, though it tastes a bit different from traditional Japanese tonkotsu ramen. The pork was solid and satisfying. The mochi ice cream (not pictured) and pork bao buns was really good and definitely a highlight.

Overall, a nice place to eat with good food, even if it’s not super traditional. Would still come back to try other items.

Another great meal at Iza. We have known Yung for many years and always appreciate the excellent food and service at Iza. Having lived in Japan for two years, we can appreciate the freshness and the selection of sushi and have never been disappointed. Our server Christian was excellent. The only downside is we have to go deep into Chapel Hill…Go Duke! Take a look at the photo. You can’t get this at Harris Teeter!

I absolutely loved my entire experience at Iza Whiskey and Eats. My mom and I came to eat here a few nights ago, and I want to point out how incredible the customer service was (and the food, of course). Yung, the owner, was wonderful, and offered us some sake on the house which was so unnecessary but so incredibly kind. When I told him I’m not a big sushi fan, he suggested the chili garlic noodles and they were quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. My mom got sushi and claims it was the freshest fish she’s had in a long time. I seriously can not recommend this place, and the people, enough.

First time coming here and it was such an excellent experience. Lief ( apologies if I misspelled your name brother) took amazing care of my mother and I. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the offerings and exemplified excellent service.

The food was fantastic. So much flavor and the portions were plenty! We left full and happy. I will absolutely be bringing friends and colleagues here for the ice cold beer and some of the best sushi I’ve ever had!

Yung & his incredible staff just gave us the best impromptu experience. ❤️ When I tell you that we have had omakase all over the world- I am not exaggerating and this was one of the best. The seared salmon sushi with the truffle butter ponzu…bury me in it and call it a day! Presentation, personality, service…A++++. Don’t miss out!

I came here for my birthday dinner. I was in a party of 4 and wanted to sit outside because it was way too quiet and empty for a saturday night birthday dinner inside. Riley was a great server and was very accommodating and nice. However, the all of food was bland and the iza crunch tasted like floral cleaner. When I requested a swap or refund on one roll, I was denied both options for both options I still had to pay. Don’t come here for bday celebration.
