Don’t post often. Specially with love towards supporting local family business that made me feel like family throughout all my years growing up in the small town of lake Stevens. Knowing the whole family throughout the 19 yrs+ but and know I know why sadly everyone that knows the family business has issues since hes taken over.. Sorry the last son the now has taken over Ixtapa has ruined this business. Love the whole family but food has changed, please who hes hired and food taken over is terrible/un taught or not caring, (told by many members of the community, but still loved to come back to support… WRONG. I was told right and know I know.) Prices are wonky (even when they get your order wrong they wont give you money back on your card, they will say next time you come back ask for the manager and I’ll return your money because it takes him a hour on the phone with getting it back in a few days.) I said I’m okay with time to give my cash back, Lake Stevens is hard for me to get to and I was just trying to support your business so I’d like it back on my card no matter how long it takes.. apparently that wasnt a option…..?

This location is tucked away in a large strip mall next to ACE and A pharmacy. Plenty of parking. Why four star??? I have eaten here many times but i find the alcohol drinks very weak.

Great service, very attentive staff. Only down was portion size compared to other Mexican restaurants I’ve visited, a bit on the less size. Maybe they looked at me and said, “He could prolly stand less calories today” . Flavor +++

I like to put reviews like this not to put down a restaurant but to make them greater. If Ixtapa can have their cooks eat their own food once in awhile, they will find their food is very salty. I ordered the Ixtapa burrito and my wife ordered the enchilada from the lunch menu today. When we got our dish it looked so yummy. But our excitement turned to dissapointment real quick after the first couple of bites. My wife loves salty food but even for her, the enchilada was very salty. The Ixtapa burrito was even twice as salty. I hope that they will taste their own food and discover this for themselves. I would love to come back here and taste their chicken mole but I don’t want to get dissapointed for the second time. I’m really hoping that mole would be really deliceous and not taste like ton of salt was the main ingredient.

Been coming here for years. Met a friend for lunch, seated in the bar. Clean, staff friendly, drinks well made, food tasty as always. This place has the BEST chicken soup around. I ordered a double side of the fried jalapenos as my ‘salad’
The others were happy with their food also (a couple combo plates). Decent sound level, the staff we saw were masked and attentive without being overbearing. Service was prompt.

The free Salsa and chips were amazing! I did not like the reduced Carb Burrito. Too much cheese. Also the prices were definitely on the higher side, felt $5-$7 more than usual prices.
