So My Co- Workers and I had a taste for some Jamaican/ Caribbean food, so we decided to give “ISLAND BAY GRILL” a try and I have to say it was the Best Jerk Chicken that, I’ve had since moving from Philly 3yrs ago to Lehigh Valley. It has been super challenging trying to find GOOD Jamaican food in this area. Nothing like Grilled Jerk . Their sauce was ok but the chicken itself was Good. The Cabbage looked good and was not bad either, the rice was just ok, the Mac& Chz needs some work, the plantain were good. The Service was good and the inside was nice and clean. I / We would go back again. So if you have a taste for Some Jamaican food give them a play, let me know what you think. Again it’s nothing like my Caribbean spots in Philly but it did hit the spot for lunch. Oh one of my Co- Worker’s had the Jerk Loaded fries, sorry I did not get a picture of that dish,they said it was ok as well

Island Bay Grill is a pretty unassuming little place from the outside but inside it’s very cute and fresh with staff that is really warm and welcoming. I didn’t eat inside on my visit because of being on my way somewhere and the whole COVID bit, but they have a nice area where you could eat in at one of the three counter seats by the window. Food is absolutely delicious and the portions are extremely generous. Pretty sure a small could make two, maybe three meals, depending on what your usual appetite is I guess (except those sweet plantains, those were GONE right away!). I got the goat curry small meal and it came with rice and beans, sweet plantains, veggies, and the goat. The meat was tender and the curry sauce was so flavorful. Rice and beans were very good (they put some of the curry sauce on it which was divine). Loved the cabbage veggies too! Hadn’t had veggies like this before and was amazed at how much great flavor was packed in there. I can’t wait until my next Allentown visit so I can go back and try another dish. Definitely recommend!

I was fiendin’ for some Caribbean food. I I saw the menu on FB and screen shot it. I called before I went there to make sure they still had some Jerked Chicken. I go there the place is very clean. Carribean music playing. They greeted me as I entered, asked me how I found out about them. My food was served hot and in a timely matter. I highly recommend you check out this spot the next time your in the area

I placed a catering order for my son’s 1st birthday and it was such a hit! My friends and family devoured it and even asked for to go containers for the small amount of left overs we had. We ordered the jerk chicken, fried chicken, mac and cheese, rice and peas , fried plantains and beef patties. My guest loved the sauce they served with the jerk, it was incredible! My only regret is not grabbing some Togo menus or business cards, as everyone was asking where it was from wanting to go on their own.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating. When I walked into the restaurant for pickup the first thing I noticed was how clean it was. It’s small, but cute, and huge in flavor. Everything was fresh and warm. I honestly can’t give it more praise. A perfect experience.. no complaints at all! Thank you to all the staff!!! We will be back!

The atmosphere is great and service also.
But the food was not it. I ordered a large oxtail and white rice and it cost 21 dollars. Imagine ny disappointment in tasting the food and its salty. I’m jamaican so re the saltiness the other flavors were overpowered. I did call the restaurant to let them know that this was the case. The young lady stated “no one has complained about that today…. . but next time they would give me something on the house”. The response for accountability wasn’t satisfactory in my eyes. There won’t be a next time for me.
Great spot nonetheless…..but the food needs to be tasted while cooking it…..

First visit for lunch. Ordered $7 lunch bowls- jerk chicken and stewed chicken. Each came with peas and rice, plantains and cabbage and included a can of soda. I asked for oxtail gravy on the rice. At first I thought the containers were quite small for the price but after getting home and digging in, I was surprised at how much food was packed in there. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the jerk chicken more than the stewed chicken and the jerk seasoning and sauce was very tasty. I think the food was very good. I plan to return soon.
The restaurant was very clean and everything looked new inside. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
I am a huge fan of west Indian food and I am glad there is another place to choose from in the Allentown area. I wish this business much success!

Ordered 2 jerk platters today…food was great! I got the cabbage and my gf got Mac n cheese. Both sides were great but the jerk itself was top tier…will definitely be back. Customer service service was great as well…thank you!
