Great local greasy spoon. The iron skillet has been around since I was a little kid and the message had stayed the same “good food, lousy service”. Unfortunately, I find their motto to be a tad off. Everytime I have gone to this location, they’ve had great service. My mom frequents this location and they always take good care of her. The food is also good and they always have fresh made pie in the cooler just waiting to be ate. I’d recommend this place for anyone who just wants good wholesome food and a good place to rub elbows with the locals.

Went in, waited over 30 minutes for food, only saw our waitress for the bare minimum. No refills on drinks. Hashbrowns tasted like burnt onions, and were soft and soggy in the middle. My over medium eggs had clear snot. It’s been a couple hours and myself and the person I came with are experiencing stomach cramps. Glad it’s going out of business.

Ate at the skillet last night with my mom. Food was excellent as usual. So anyways my mom had asked me to write a stellar review on the soup, it’s their cabbage patch soup and it is ” out of this world” she said. So if you’re there for lunch or dinner, mom recommends trying the cabbage patch soup. On a side note my dad had a steak which was really good too and he said their green beans are the best.

Great food. Best breakfast around. Reminds me of days with my grandparents. They claim lousy service but the ladies there treat you great. Good coffee as well. You need to relax in the morning go here!

We had a combo app which was great! Mozzarella sticks got a 8/10, onion got a 9/10, chicken strips got a 10/10. Our food on the other hand I ended up going with clam strips and fries which was kinda sad after the app because the clam strips where about a 7/10, the fries where an 8/10, my friend got the tbone stake and eggs the hash browns where undercooked 5/10, eggs where fine and of course the steak was good 9/10. Overall I think I’d come here again but mostly for the appetizer.

VERY sad to see it go but I’m thankful for all of the great memories of this place. This is where I, as a newcomer to the valley 19 years ago, was introduced to what quickly became my favorite breakfast dish by my good friend Jonathan. Biscuits and gravy! This was also the first restaurant that my twin boys ever went to when they were just a few days out of the hospital. My wife and I were suffering from some serious cabin fever as the several weeks prior were spent couped up in the NICU’s at both the UW and Skagit Hospitals. On a cold snowy December day, after being home with our two new arrivals for a couple of days, we’d had enough! We loaded the two into their car seats and, with my in-laws in tow, headed to the Skillet. Due to the weather conditions, there were only a few other people there and the four of us enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast with our two new little ones sleeping peacefully in their car seats. They, of course don’t remember that day. But over the past 14 years they, along with their younger brother and sister, have gone with us to breakfast there many times and have heard the story several times over. Thanks, Reba and staff, for the great food and especially all of the great memories! God Bless,

In area for work, googled best breakfast in town, went to The Skilket. Highly disappointed. Never deep fry bacon, sign of lazy cook and not worried about quality. Partner had eggs benedict with real runny eggs, had to send back. Again quality of what they are willing put out is poir.
