The food here is overpriced and only decent. $30 for dumplings and fried rice. Ordered take out and they did not put any sauce or fortune cookie in the bag. I went back for more dumpling sauce to put on the rice as it lacked flavor and was charged a dollar each for small, half filled containers (pictured). To be charged at all for sauce is annoying, I would understand .25 or .50 but a whole dollar EACH? That’s insane.

This restaurant is a unicorn. I love Chinese food and thought it was the end of the road for me when I was diagnosed and had to go GF. I’ve been to other places that offer GF options but this is the best in the city. The staff are wonderful. They are hard working, fast, courteous, attentive, and were a godsend during COVID. Recently, I became aware that the owner is changing the restaurant to a “collaborate” with another restaurant. So there will be yet another restaurant in this area offering American food. There is a huge posted sign indicating what’s to come however, Wei West is NOT mentioned at all.

I never get to eat Chinese food like sesame chicken because I’m gluten free, I visited Wei west because I saw they offered this. They deserve way more stars than 3.9, it was so delicious. My husband had regular (not gf) and said mine was just as good. I LOVED IT. Gluten free paradise, great food!

I love this place!! It’s a simple and comfortable spot with good food. The Chinese food options are great and they even have one or two Thai options. They also have a Sushi bar with a nice selection of Sushi options. I’ve been there many times and everything I’ve had was all good. I’ve also gone with friends who also like this spot and have wanted to go back again. The staff are all nice and friendly and it’s never crowded there which I love. Really nice spot to eat if you’re in the Battery Park area.

General Tso’s chicken was one of the best I had. Miso soup was delicious as were the steamed dumplings. Green tea shake was ok.

My friend and I came here for dinner after having a good happy hour experience a few weeks prior. Dinner was a disappointing experience. Her noodles were cold and dry. My saki was lukewarm. My sashimi entree was not very fresh, nor were the pieces a decent size, which was particularly disappointing for a $30 entree. We ordered edamame for an appetizer and it took forever to come. Didn’t taste that great either. All in all, I can see why the place was empty for a Wednesday night and I would not recommend coming here for dinner.

I order sushi roles many times to take away or delivery and they are always fresh and delicious. They make them pretty quick as well. My food is usually ready within ten minutes.

We got the Rainbow Roll and the Shrimp Tempura roll. The fish was fresh, but not the most flavorful. It also wasn’t very filling for the price.

Vomiting and diarrhea after eating delivery from wei west. Manager Sam’s first reaction was ” you should go to a doctor. I am 100% confident in my food”. Only when challenged on the absurdity of this response did he offer a refund- as if I was arguing for the money. The response was worse than the food. Would rate zero if I could.

Returned due to good experiences in the past. This time it was a big disappointment. Ramen had no flavour with lumpy noodles. Didn’t finish it, tried to eat as much as I could (hate leaving food), but eating something that tastes no good…well, you could do better in the past, I hope you can climb back up.
