Sunday around 6pm. Dinner for two, dine in. The place was busy to say the least. To go orders being picked up, ordering at the register and the phone was ringing every few minutes with another to go order.
The dining area is a decent size with tables throughout and a few plants adorn a 1/2 wall separating the dining area from the register. A little spruce up of the area and maybe a light coat of paint on the walls would definitely brighten up a not-so-bright eating area.
We got our drinks, found a table and a short time later, our food was brought out. We ordered hibachi steak, no veggies, with extra steak and hibachi chicken and shrimp with white rice and ginger sauce with 2 drinks. Our meals were very good. The temperature of the food could have been a bit warmer – the white rice seemed more room temperature. The amount of steak, chicken, and shrimp was awesome! And even though the shrimp are on the smaller side, they do give you a good amount to enjoy.
While the atmosphere isn’t the most up to date, all of the staff we observed from the lady at the counter, to the cooks in the back, to the lady who brought out the meal….they were all friendly and busy. We enjoyed a very good meal, with large portions, free drink refills and all at a price we didn’t choke on. Thank you for a great meal!

Not worth the money at all. $33 Bucks for these 3 items that were only “OK” at best.
One is the Teriyaki Steak (Dinner), the other is the Teriyaki Steak & Chicken (Dinner) with a side order of French fries.
Dry flavorless steak and chicken, sickly sweet with too much teriyaki sauce. Over cooked veggies as the side and crunchy rice.
The best item here were the fries.

I was soooo disappointed with my experience here, bc I used to eat here all the time and every time it was great! Unfortunately, my friend and I came in here and placed a to go order. I ordered the chicken and steak fried rice combo, which is what I usually get. My friend had ordered the same thing as me.
Some time goes by and we finally get our food, I didn’t think to check it before I left bc like I said, I’ve always been pleased with the food. We get back and I open my tray to find this weird, shredded looking meat as my “steak”, and my friends steak looks like actual steak pieces. Her steak was VERY tough and really hard to chew. Mine was questionable and overall terrible. The service wasn’t the best either, the atmosphere is depressing, I think this location is going down hill honestly. Hate that I spent my money on food that I couldn’t even eat..
OH AND my friend had a hair in her meal too

This is the most disappointing “Japanese” I’ve had.. ever.
Tokyo House was our go to for a long time but recently closed so we decided to try Inoko again – we had previously tried it a year or 2 ago and we didn’t have any specific feeling about it so gave it another try when Tokyo House wasn’t an option tonight.
To start, this is the only Japanese place I’ve ate at that doesn’t have gyoza. It’s a family favorite so I was sad they didn’t have it as an option. At first glance, the hibachi looked okay, however they were tasteless and the rice/meat/veggies all tasted like water. The steak was the only thing that tasted edible and that’s just because it was a good piece of meat. The veggies and meat were all mixed up and the rice was so so stiff I could barely chew it. The salad that I paid an additional $2.75 for was tiny and wrapped in plastic wrap in a tiny plastic bowl. The “soup” tasted like dirty water.
My mothers meal also had a lemon wedge in it, she’s allergic to lemons, when I called to ask the restaurant if the meal had lemon juice all over it or if the lemon was just on the side for looks and I was told “the lemon goes with the shrimp” but she never answered my question. Luckily my plate didn’t have lemon so I swapped with her.
To top of my terrible $50 meal for my family of 3, there were no forks/spoons/chopsticks/napkins – nothing that would help us eat the tasteless meal.
Can I please have Tokyo House back? The best place sadly closed and now I won’t get Japanese if I don’t drive 30+ minutes, terrible Friday night.

I just want to say I have been coming here at least 2 times a week and it’s not getting old. This place is so amazing and the food portions are very big. The owner Jimmy is one of the kindest restaurant owners I know. He and his staff greet me by my first name every time I come here..The atmosphere is very friendly and clean. Such a shame that it is so hidden because many people are missing out for not knowing this amazing Gem exists..Thank you Jimmy and this amazing staff for making it an absolute joy to come eat here twice a week..

Very disappointed.The “steak” is steakum probably cat. It’s burnt, tough and flavor for the whole thing is terrible. Rice is undercooked and as someone stated the veggies is bad tasting zucchini and onion. If this is good Japanese to you I’d recommend you venture out and try someplace else. I believe they only get business because their located in a small country town.

Anyone giving this place low ratings is not cultured or has their taste buds burned off. This spot is fire. First off let me say how friendly the staff are, even the cooks. You can tell this place loves their community and customers and enjoy working with each other and I’ve seen them help each other. I get the chicken fried rice with yellow sauce and side of habachi vegetables and mushroom soup, I don’t even like soup, but I’ll eat this soup. The soup does NOT taste like “dirty water” like she brittney girl said below, it tastes like perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned soup. And all the rice and meat have taste and are perfectly seasoned. The yellow sauce should be winning awards at shows and events, they put their heart and soul in that sht. I have NO idea what that Pamela woman is talking about, floors are never sticky and there is definitely fried rice, I get it each time lmao and the sauce is the best sauce I’ve ever had. She must be the type to order chicken fingers and fries with only ketchup wherever she goes, don’t listen to that. Everything is always cooked to order and fresh and hot. You can’t beat the price and get a full plate. The portions are great and I usually eat a lot like a fat a$$. I have tried the ultimate rice and the teriyaki rice and both are just as good and same portions. You literally cannot go wrong ordering here. Does not have all the MSG that Chinese food has and I would get this over any Chinese spot or fast food in the area. It’s like $7 for a full plate of food how can you beat that? AND they take coupons in the community advertising booklets. I always cal ahead, order, they say 15 min but I’ve ordered and drove there in 10 and they ready, every time. They are quick, efficient, fresh, kind, clean and tastes great. Again, anyone below giving low stars has lost their minds. I have ate at places all over Atlanta and downtown and upscale and low scale and Decatur and Monroe and even in different states and this place is one of the best places I’ve ate, honestly. I’m almost addicted to it and I’m NEVER like that with a place. Usually I’ll go once maybe twice somewhere even if it’s good, I come here SO much now it’s embarrassing lol. Especially if you’re lit, come here!

I much prefer this location to either of the ones in Athens, and I’ll make the trip out to Winder for it. The portion sizes I’ve gotten each time have always been different though. And the tenderness of the steak also varies each time. The chicken was a bit dry today, and I felt like they tried to cover that up by dousing it in some sauce despite me ordering hibachi style and not the teriyaki. Still, overall the taste is great.

The food was really good! Sat down here for some affordable hibachi style cuisine. I would certainly eat here again. I got the chicken and steak. The steak was tender, the rice perhaps a little bit hard – but definitely still good! It’s certainly not the type of place I would normally sit down to eat, but I’m not mad about it. It’s mainly takeout. The dining room is large enough to accommodate large parties!
