This was by far the best Indian food. The samosas were the most flavorful I’ve ever eaten, better than when I was in India. Every dish was delicious. This family owned and run restaurant is top notch. In our party we had a vegetarian and someone that has dairy and nut allergies; both had plenty of options on the menu and everything was clearly labeled for them. We will definitely be back!

This seems to be a mostly takeout restaurant, at least for dinner. Paneer pakora was fine, garlic naan was excellent, baingan bhartha was very tasty and just enough spice when ordered at the medium level.

The food here is amazing. I often order India Gate through Uber Eats and have never been disappointed. The rice is flavorful and even tastes amazing on its own. The butter chicken is my favorite dish here. Tender chicken and flavorful curry. I just tried the samosas, and they were very fresh. This is my go-to spot for Indian food in Durham!

Went to the new location for lunch yesterday. If you frequented the old one, you’ll be comforted by the familiar atmosphere when you walk in, as the decor and music is very much the same. The service was lovely as always. They no longer do a lunch buffet but instead a lunch combo that has a little bit of everything. This platter is a LOT of food, a very good value at $14. They also offer a vegetarian version. Everything tasted amazing. We’ll be back!

I stopped by India Gate at the new location for the first time to scratch an itch for Indian food. I was surprised and disappointed by the low budget decor. While I had not been to the previous location , I expected to walk into a fairly nice restaurant. Its definitely not a date night spot, more like a quick lunch or take out spot. However the smell of delicious food kept me interested. The service was very good, pleasant, attentive, and friendly. When I got my meal home and dug in I was very pleased. My meal was flavorful and fresh, and the dinner portion was good. I will definitely be back for takeout!

Absolutely delicious food! From the pakora to the vindaloo, you cannot go wrong. You gotta get the garlic naan.

This place was good for dinner once at their old location, but lunch today was very disappointing. At lunch there are only two menu options – vegetarian and non-vegetarian, a full menu was not presented. The non-veggie comes with a small scoop of chicken tikka massala, that was very bland with mostly shredded chicken rather than whole pieces. There was also a small tandori chicken leg which was also lacking in flavor. The naan was not the usual fresh garlic naan, and was relatively flavorless. This is easily the worst Indian I’ve had, which is surprising about how it was good it was in the past.
