IHOP is a reasonably inexpensive place to go for breakfast….except for the coffee. That has gotten expensive for the quality. We go off hours, meaning between normal mealtime as the restaurant is not crowded. The food is fresher as opposed to sitting under a heat lamp all morning. The young (compared to me) waitress, while trying to be friendly with us, kept calling us “loves” or “dearest ” or “sweetie.” It was a little too much familiarity for us, but she did her job well and was well tipped for it. We also didn’t bother to say anything because we didn’t want to discourage her from it with other customers who may like it.

My daughter and I went to IHOP for an early morning breakfast. After the waitress sat us at one table she noticed it was dirty so she sat us at a different table. We were handed cutlery and they took our order. We unwrapped the cutlery and my daughters was very dirty and had egg on it. I asked for two new sets and the second sets had maple syrup on them but I did not say anything to the waitress. She noticed that we were cleaning them with our napkins so she brought over a cup with hot water in it so I can clean them ourselves. This photo is a picture of the cup she brought over. The lipstick was still wet and I asked her if this was a clean cup and she assured me it was. When I turned it to her she said oh my God I’m so sorry. I asked to speak to the manager but he was too busy cooking to come out and speak to me. Another employee came over and apologized. I canceled our food order and the waitress said it’ll be ready in just a minute and my response was if your dishes are this filthy I cannot imagine how dirty your kitchen is. I totally understand a fork being dirty but not four different pieces of cutlery and a cup. I honestly believe this place is just reusing dirty dishes and the health department really should visit them.

Leo our server was great. The food was fine, but there just seemed to be a lack of staff, so we had to wait quite a while before someone greeted us at the front desk and being seated.

Service can be a bit slow but nothing bothersome or unusual. Food has always been good and orders correct. It can’t be beat for the price and I personally think it’s much better than Blue Corn next door. I’ve gone at slow times and Sunday morning. Usually get get omelette with pancakes. Only better pancakes around are at Gloria’s.
