IHOP was a great stop! The food was delicious, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff was super friendly.Amber was very attentive. I loved that there’s a gas station right next door – very convenient. They were even cleaning the bathrooms while we were there, which shows they care about keeping things nice for customers. The food tasted so good that my kids enjoyed it even more than Chick-fil-A! Definitly will come back!

This place was horrible. We went on Valentine’s Day knowing it was going to be to be a rush we went early. No one was there yet it took us 45 mins to get our food. The lady Brenda who took our order was rude as hell. From rushing to taking our order to bringing wrong items. She was rude and frantic. We were not rude at all when ordering and I make sure of it because I have work customer service for years. I understand that holidays are always hard on customer service workers but there is no need to snap at a 65 year old women asking for a take out plate “I AM GETTING IT” it was a miss understanding that my mother did not hear me ask for the plate and wanted to get it for my daughter and she was rude. Then insisted on when we asked for the toast to be removed because it was incorrect and never corrected argued loudly well “I didn’t hear you” if we were given the same respect as the other serves and their customers she would have heard when we ordered but no she was running place to place to place. There are always people to help you when you are in hectic moments that’s why you have a team. So ask for help. Then to yell “we will comp the whole damn meal” set me off.
We had to kindly ask for pancakes to be remade because of the pink dye they put in them and we have allergies to artificial dyes & was told they were out of normal cake batter. This should be an option given to customers not a mandate. I understand being festive but being surprised by it could be a health risk. Charlie was the manager on duty and she was kind enough to let me explain to her my frustrations but that I was not going to tolerate my mother being yelled at especially when I was understanding. If it’s to much to handle then maybe a change In profession.

As a former restaurant manager, I understand exactly what it takes to deliver true 5-star service — and Amber did it with effortless grace. She was the kind of server who shines without even trying, and whenever I return, I’ll know *exactly* who to request.

But then… there was Charlotte.

Charlotte, the manager, prowled through the dining room with a storm cloud on her face, radiating an energy so tense it felt like she was hunting for mistakes rather than creating a welcoming atmosphere. Each table she approached was met with a hollow, sarcastic “How are you?” and a mechanical “Need anything?” — words that should feel warm, but instead dripped with disinterest.

Sensing something was off, I decided to observe her more closely. When I asked for more water, she snatched up my *used* glass — same ice, same squeezed lemons — marched it to the back, filled it, and returned with a smile so forced it practically cracked. Before I could even get another word out, she’d already dismissed my presence and turned her attention elsewhere, as if the guests were an afterthought.

A manager sets the tone — and this tone was unacceptable.

This place needs a new leader, urgently. Charlotte’s service was not just poor; it was a masterclass in how *not* to run a business.

The is review is for the IHOP on the I35 in Lytle Texas. This probably the cleanest IHOP we have ever been to. The food came out fast. We all had burgers. Highly recommend.

First visit to this IHOP and the service was horrendous to say the least.. the waitress was rushed and seemed upset, cut us off as we spoke our order, we told her we weren’t in a hurry, but that didn’t change the way she spoke to us, maybe she was having a bad day.. her tablet went down, so she took our order on her paper instead, after about 40 mins of sitting with our drinks now empty, she came back to tell us that our orders hadn’t been placed due to tablets not submitting… they rushed to make our order, and offered free drinks. Management came by and apologized, I just feel like it was something that could have been told to us sooner, or this issue found out sooner, if she had come by to check on us.. meanwhile, we watched several other tables get their food around us..
a manger said it was only the waitresses 6th day.. in a table of 6, all of us felt like our waitress was rude. On top of that, the glasses we were given had lipstick stains.. and weren’t clean.
This was a first visit.. atmosphere was nice.. they are limited on seating.. I might give them another try after they have been open a bit longer.
