We love going during lunch hours because we get the bento boxes that come with an entree, two fried dumplings, California roll, Japchae and white rice. The variety is great. The kalbi short ribs were soooooo good and grilled perfection. The banchan side dishes are amazing too as they accompany each meal.
The jam pong (spicy udon seafood soup) was so delicious. The complexity of flavors were outstanding. There was squid, clam, mussels, fish cake, crab and shrimp in there. All the seafood was very fresh! Broth was thick and perfect amount of spice! The Don noodles were cooked to perfection and held together nicely while absorbing the delicious broth.
Our meals came with hot tea and/or ice water.
Service was fast and impeccable. Everyone at Ichiban is so nice, especially the owner.
We can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant almost every other week and it never disappoints! The service is always amazing and the food is consistently delicious. As a Korean, I can confidently say the flavors are authentic, and I’ve recommended this place to many of my friends- they’ve all loved it too. The atmosphere is warm and even though weekends can be busy, it’s absolutely worth the wait.

THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD! I got the Galbi Tang while feeling under the weather and it’s hitting the spot. The meat falls off the bone and the starter dishes were better than some I had in Korea. Please support this business, their prices for lunch are super reasonable!!

I have been to this restaurant soo many times i cant count them on my fingers. This restaurant has been an eye opener for delicious korean food and has set a standard for what to expect from other businesses.
Over the course of 15 years i have had everything on the menu and i can attest that this is some of the best if not THE best place to get korean food that isnt your typical KBBQ.
The yuk hye jiang and all of the stews are amazing. I moved futlrther away otherwise i would be there all the time like i used to but i often ordsr the bossam and it is immaculate. Everything you would want for that dish which i will mention, almost no other places in CT do on a regular basis.
Lets keep this place busy and open, it is such an amazing institution, and the servers and chefs are a delight whenever you are there.

Korean and Japanese foods are my staple and sometimes I feel too lazy to cook. Plus, some dishes make your house smell bad after cooking bc of the strong smell. The day I visited here, I had been craving grilled mackerel and 된장찌개 so badly for days and they were good enough to satisfy me.
I love it here that foods taste amazing, are reasonably priced, and provide you with various selections of menus.
I think I’ll become a regular customer here. Next time I’ll try takeaway.

I’ve been to Ichiban many times and it is one of my favorite restaurants in Hartford. Staff is always friendly and welcoming, the food is fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is laid back. Their bento boxes are a great value and you can sample different things like glass noodles, gyoza, a roll and seaweed and squid salad plus your entree. I’ve also had their stir fry and other dishes, though today I’m sharing pics of take-out and they just never, ever disappoint. Everything is perfect!

We loved all the food here. Great flavor. Generous portions. We usually order delivery and this was our first time dining in. I knew it would be good based on the delivery but the food was phenomenal!! The stew was nice and hot. The complimentary side dishes were very high quality. I can’t say enough good things.
We ordered the pork and rice cake kimchi stew and this easily can feed 4 people. The scallion pancake was big and crispy. We loved the sushi and sashimi! Will be going back for sure.
UPDATE: I had been eyeing the hot pots last time and WOW. Blown away. Easily could have fed four people. We had a ton of left overs and the server even offered me their own container to take it home in! It was very sweet.
We also had the chicken katsu and it was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Tender chicken. Good crunchy outside. And the Ichiban Roll was also delicious! Very happy with everything and will be coming back again and again
