Been here a couple times for it’s fresh sushi. Got a phoenix roll, king salmon roll and ichi sushi entree (mostly nigiris). Everything $64 after tax. It’s a bit pricey here but the quality is premium.

We come here with relative frequency. It is one of the few places in town where we feel the food, service, and atmosphere are always excellent. Even when they’re busy, which is often on weekends. They have a large menu with many offerings, including excellent sushi.

I gave a 5 star rating not necessarily because it’s the absolutely best sushi/sashimi I’ve had (it’s very, very good) but because it offers all you can eat for a reasonable price of about $31. Except for an excellent place in Port Orange, FL and some exceptional places in CA and HI, it ranks near the top of my list in flavor and presentation. The seafood is very fresh and, for Japanese cuisine, that’s about 90% of the flavor rating. I started with the seaweed salad, which was tasty and a little more tangy than usual but, as such, seemed brighter and fresher than others. Still had good toasted sesame flavor, too. I then ordered the rainbow roll (highly recommended), salmon and octopus sashimi, the fire roll (tasty and fun with great presentation), and a simple salmon roll. My wife found plenty of items she liked. Not a fancy place so don’t expect great atmosphere, however, after a day of fly fishing, we didn’t need fancy, just convenience and good food. Service was friendly and just a bit slow due to a heavy take-out business but was good compared to other sushi restaurants. We will certainly return whenever we’re in the Rochester, MN area.

Ichi Tokyo is located in a strip mall in South Rochester. We were greeted and seated immediately, and the service was really great. However, the lunch bento boxes we ordered were not. The tempura was off, as you will see in the picture. The breading was not panko but something else that was really heavy. The oil it was cooked in was heavy as well. Tha k goodness the tonkatsu had proper breading, but it was just ok. The miso was salty, and the avocado in the california roll was very soft. I hope that they were just having an off day, but sadly, I won’t be coming back to find out. Again, it was great service, but not so great food.

The experience at Ichi Tokyo is perfect. Food, service and ambiance. I enjoyed their fine all you can eat Sushi dinner – very authentic Japanese quinine. I hope you will enjoy. As a footnote: try the clear (mushroom broth soup) soup it’s fantastic and settles your tummy for a gastronomic experience

My 3 companions had the “all you can eat” sushi menu and I had the beef hibachi dinner (since I am allergic to shellfish so not a sushi fan) even though there are plenty of choices of non shellfish!
Everyone was happy. The food is amazing, the sushi was apparently exceptional. Along with crab Rangoon (huge) miso and clear soup, tempura dishes, teriyaki chicken and salmon, and egg custard.
Order from the unlimited menu as needed, the service is fabulous and the waitress was accommodating and they never had to wait for more dishes. Pictured are just some of the dishes my companions ate, all so beautifully presented. There is a “wastage penalty” of 50c per item to stop over ordering and honestly there should be no need as you order as you finish each set of dishes.

Excellent installation catering to south Rochester.
Being on the south side, this is a great place for all commuters south of Rochester.
They have a full bar and , (new to me), an all you can eat sushi menu. Granted you won’t have access to every roll they offer but it actually includes specialty rolls and even appetizers like everyone’s favorite gyoza.
I found myself opting for the Hibachi menu, since it has a flavor profile worth exploring with a glass of Pinot Grigo.
Next time id like to explore the Terryaki menu profiles and wine pairing possibilities.
They have a few dining booths that appear to host parties of up to 6 and im sure they can host a larger party with arrangements made.

The taste of the food is pretty good. The pricing is on the higher side. The all you can eat menu’s, whether lunch or dinner, seem to have a lot less options than other places. It’s a little ridiculous that they claim to be “all you can eat” but then only allow 5 orders of sushi/sashimi. Overall though it was a decent experience.

Their all can eat price has really gone up. However, the rolls have also gotten bigger, which is good. The staff is always extremely friendly!
The spicy sandwich rolls are my favorite.

I went as a treat to myself and was very happy with the variety of food they offered. I had sushi and miso soup. They offer all you can eat sushi every day and not just the beginner rolls! I will be going back.
