We ate here Valentine’s night on a whim. Everywhere else was crazy busy! Ordered the fried crab jalapeños, & a chicken bun appetizer (really liked the bun, has a yummy sauce too). Hubby ordered chicken stirfry, and I ordered crispy chicken ramen. Probly only the 3rd time I’ve tried J-ramen… so I’m not the best judge, and still not a big fan in general to the flavors/ taste (I’m biased to korean/thai/pho flavor). But I added hot sauce and it was tasty. Good broth!

Casual but cozy atmosphere, friendly service even though they were busy. Place does seem popular!

There is something deeply honest about a good bowl of ramen. It’s a labor of love, a slow-burn extraction of soul from bone and marrow, and Ibendoo Ramen on Commercial Street is doing the work. You walk into this place and the atmosphere hits you first—it’s bright, vibrant, and carries that electric hum of a kitchen that actually cares.

We started with the gyoza and the karaage. The gyoza were pan-fried to that perfect, golden-ratio crisp, and the karaage—marinated, deep-fried chicken thigh—was exactly what it should be: juicy, craggy, and unapologetic. But we’re here for the noodles. The kimchi ramen is a beautiful, spicy punch to the throat in the best way possible, balanced by a broth that clearly took its time to get right. And the chicken stir fry ramen? It’s a masterclass in texture—bold flavors, quality ingredients, and noodles that haven’t lost their bite.

You can tell they aren’t cutting corners here. They’re sourcing real ingredients and treating them with respect. Beyond the food, the customer service is outstanding—friendly, fast, and completely devoid of that weary cynicism you find in lesser joints. In a world of pretenders, Ibendoo is the real thing. If you’re in Salem and you need to remember what quality feels like, pull up a chair. Five stars.

I have gone to Ibendoo three times for lunch. The food has always been good. There seems to be a bit of turnover in the kitchen as I have seen signs on the front door for help two out of the three times. However, the food has been consistent and very good. I have had both beef ramen and vegetarian and was pleased. I will continue to come back.

Great Ramen cafe, with an impressive selection of Japanese single malt whiskeys on offer.

Kimchi Ramen, Niku Soba Ramen and Takoyaki are all delicious.

Really great food! Highly recommend the agedashi tofu, which for really silly reasons is listed as the “age of tofu”. Deep fried tofu cubes you can dip in broth. Tried to get a better photo but was too busy eating it!

Was having high hopes, it seemed like a super super casual restaurant and i took my family that were visiting and they were definitely not impressed. We got there and the chairs were up because they were slow. (A huge red flag in a restaurant). Our server was sweet and friendly. The food was not too bad, but I was expecting a high quality authentic japanese ramen.

Their noodle soup is made with broth simmered from meat and bones, not the kind of soup made by adding a spoonful of concentrated powder to a pot of boiling water. I only eat ramen at their restaurant.

I took the family and they loved it. The food was good. I can’t say it was great but it was FAR from bad I would give it a solid 7.5-8. This is a spot that your not going to be blown away but your going to get amazing service and consistently good food every time you show up. For the area it’s a great spot. And we will certainly be back.
